Interview with forum member BassPro2000
PERSONAL RELATED QUESTIONS: Q: Care to share any background or family related info with THF (have any
kids? a spouse? etc.)? A: First of all, let me thank you for allowing me to do this interview and all the members who take time to read my interview. Let's see, I have the best girlfriend in the world, she keeps me out of trouble and I love her to death for it.

I just graduated from high school not to long ago with a 3.4 GPA and several scholarships. I have been attending night classes at a local community college for a couple of years now. By the beginning of 2010 I should have all my classes complete and I will be able to transfer and right now I am looking at going to NC State and getting my degree in agricultural education and teach at the high school level.
Q: What is your Profession? Have you had any other professions prior to your current one? A:College consumes most of my time but what ever time is left over is spent working. My closest friend who I have known for close to 15 years now took over his dad's parking lot striping business so I work with him most of the time. I also work in commercial roofing which as you can imagine is not a very good job to have in the summer.
Q: Besides poker, what else interests you? A: I like to play pool, swim, lift weights, hunt, fish, listen to music, and most of all I like to play my guitar and write songs. My favorite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival and my favorite singers are Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, and Alan Jackson. I also like to make and work on things in general. It could be furniture, auto body work, rebuilding a transmission, etc. I have always been interested in things like that probably because my dad used to be a mechanic. I am also an avid NASCAR and college basketball fan. I like Dale Jr. and Duke.
Q: What’s your favorite books/movies/TV? A: I have never been much of a book kind of guy but I would have to say One of a Kind by Nolan Dolla and Peter Alson. I like all of the Quentin Tarantino movies except for hostel. My favorite would probably be Pulp Fiction.
Q: What are your pet peeves? A:My biggest one is probably people who nag or complain all of the time.
Q: Your worst fear? A: Probably UNC winning the NCAA basketball championship again, lol.
Q: What's your favourite food/drink? A: I'm a steak kind of guy so that's my favorite food and the only thing besides water and milk that I drink is Mountain Dew so that would probably be my favorite drink.
Q: Who are your heroes? A: I have several heroes with number one being my dad because no matter how tough things got he just kept on going and never complained once. I also look up to John Fogerty (lead singer of Creedence Clearwater Revival) because he always expressed his opinion and he stood behind his beliefs and convictions no matter what. I admire Doyle Brunson for all that he has done for the game of poker. I would also like to think all of our troops who are now fighting for our freedom overseas, all of you are heroes in my book.
Q: Do you know personally, or have you met anybody famous? A: I've met Charlie Daniels before at a small town diner about 30 miles from my home. I've also meet Richard Petty at an automotive shop in his hometown level cross, NC.
Q: Explain what a perfect day would be like for you: A: Probably waking up next to Jessica Alba or Eva Langoria, lol.
POKER RELATED QUESTIONS: Q: What is your biggest poker cash or accomplishment? A: I did finish 5th in one of those freerolls on stars with like 10,000 people, that was pretty special. But I would have to say that the best one would be winning a $10 buy-in 2-7 triple draw tournament on stars for $380.
Q: Are you more of a tournament player or ring games? What buy-in/stakes do you play at? A: I started out in tournaments and that is where my best game still is. But in the past couple of years I have started playing more and more ring games at higher stakes. Now I typically play $5 - $10 sit n go's or MTT's or for ring games I normally play .25/.50 no limit.
Q: Do you play competitively or for recreation? How much time per week do you spend on poker? A: When I play live it's normally for recreation but online I am very serious about my plays. I actually prefer live to online because I have always considered reading people to be one of my strengths. With online and live combined I normally spend about 15 hours per week on poker.
Q: Do you have any favorite poker pro’s? If so, why are they your favorites? A: There are not many pros that I don't like with the exeption of Kathy Liebert (don't ask me why, there's just something about her that I don't like). My favorite would probably have to be Mike Matusow because he is very entertaining and has a great personallity.
Q: Briefly explain how you got into poker (Possibly include age, influences, and location) A: My grandparents loved to play cards so I always played with them. They never played poker though because when my grandfather was younger he lost a lot of money that wasn't his at a poker game and that bad experience turned him away from poker. But I have always had an interest in poker ever since I can remember. So I guess I was about 4 when I started getting interested in poker, lol.
Q: What is your favorite poker site to play on? A: I mainly stick to Cake, Pokerstars, and Full Tilt.
Q: Do you prefer live play over online? A: I prefer live.
Q: In live games, do you have a good pokerface? A: I like to think that I do, but for some reason when ever I pick up aces everybody folds, lol.
Q: Do you have a favourite (Hold'em) hand?
A: I like K 10 because that's the hand that I won my first tournament with.
Q: As of today, what are your poker ambitions? A: Hopefully, I can be good enough one day where I can play professionally and make enough to support my family.
THF RELATED QUESTIONS: Q: Whose poker related posts on THF do you find most useful or most agree with?
A: I would have to say Dinero2005 because his strategy posts make the most since to me.
Q: If you could choose one player on THF to play heads up against for $1000 who would you choose? A:
I haven't seen him in a while but I would have to say rw11687 just because we're both from the same state and have the same competitive nature.
Q: Who in the future on THF do you think is most likely to be successful in their poker? A: I don't know how old people are so it's hard to say but I'll choose rocketplayer because I like his game.
Q: Who on THF do you think is most likely to be the next person banned?
A: Well, as you know the odds are always pretty high for kaart, lol.
Q: Who are your top 5 players on THF: A: These are not in any particular order:
Dinero2005
Kaartkeizer
rocketplayer
Jro34
skippy76
