Tight / Agreesive UB You've probably heard that Ultimate Bet is one of the tightest sites around along with Poker Stars and it's hard to win there. Well, recently I would agree that it is tight, although I've had good success there.
I haven't played there for a couple of week though because I'm working off a bonus at Absolute. However, Absolute was down for maintenace this morning so I checked out UB and the $3/$6 tables. I sat down at a full game and was amased to see the flop percentage was 51% !!!! Normally UB, is around 25-30%.
Not only were there loads of maniacs playing any 2 suited card, connected cards, any high card (Axo, Kxo etc), but they were hitting constantly.
I sat there and watched quite a few people come and go moaning on their way that their AKs had been called and beaten by the idiot playing 24o and catching his straight !!!
I started with $300. Very quickly I was down to $180 !!! Oh no, all my hard work recently going down the drain. I decided to continue what I was doing and see what could happen knowing that if I could hit at some stage I could win a large pot. But, my AQs weren't hitting and were being beaten by a pair of 2's etc.
Then, I won a few pots and was back up to $250. Should I leave now? Nah !!!
I got KK UTG. I raise. 6 players saw the flop !!!! 6 !!!! Anyway, the flop came all rags but 2 suited. I bet, was raised, I reraised, it was capped. Bugger. Someone has hit 2 pair or something. I needed a K. The turn brought another rag. It was checked around. Now that was confusing. The river brought a Q. The guy who capped the betting on the flop bet. I had to call.
He turned over Q9s for 1 pair of Queens and had capped the betting on the flop with the Q high flush draw !!!
So now I'm about $50 up. I was going to leave but couldn't sit out quickly enough. I got dealt TT. I raised and a LP 3-bet. I think 4 people saw the flop. All below 10 so I bet out. All called then the LP raised. I put him on a higher pair than me but couldn't be sure. I called, as did everyone else.
The turn came and brought my lovely 10 !! I check raised the LP player who 3- bet and I capped. This time it was only us and 1 other player. The river brought an 8. I bet and both called. The LP had pocet Aces and the other player had a par of 4's, which was the lowest card on the board !!!
The pot was over $150 and I ended the session $148 up !!!
Not as tight as I thought. Well, at least not at that table. |
