Initial Impressions of Touchstone Poker....really bad???

i like to give most poker sites the benefit of doubt, particularly newer sites. I understand they have little staff and so on

But im struggling to find any positives for touchstone

first of all, apologies to everyone who is having problems with the sign up. I wasnt aware just how bad it was. I didnt download the software and sign up etc because i wanted to make sure that when i deposited i got a free subscription to bluff magazine

if i had know it was this bad i would have been reluctant to have posted the offer

I have spoken with Gordon from the support team who has promised everything will be sorted. Similarly, fink has been talking with stan from support

they have asked me to ask everyone to make sure they have completed all the info in their account. I will be doing everything in my power to make sure everyone who is eligible gets their cash

so far i have problems with :

* How slow the software is...im currently playing a sng and at this rate ill be finished at 10am tomorrow morning
* The fact theres only like 3 tables available
* the fact that touchstone told me to tell you guys ithat the free cash would be credited to everyones account in 5 minutes
* the fact they then told me it would be credited by 8pm et
* the fact it still hasnt been credited
* The slowness of the software
* How basic the software is - its like they bought software which was developed in 1998
* Did i mention how slow the site is
* The fact i deposited and i then get a message saying my account isnt eligible to play certain tables!!!!


Again, i apologise for how this has turned out. Im very peeved about the whole situation. You guys are very loyal and put faith in us arranging good bonuses for you etc. However, this time i think we failed in making sure this offer was good before posting it to you guys

Fonz said his, now I'll say mine. The 100% up to $200 deposit bonus, as-is, is unattainable. You would have to play 1600 "contributed raked hands" (8000-10,000 total hands) to clear the bonus and they only give you 15 days to clear. That is fine and dandy, I could do that with my eyes closed... but the tables are all empty. My first login to the site resulted in seeing a grand total of 7 people playing rings and the most I saw at any time was 17. I spoke with support about my concerns and they assurred me that with their current promotions they would be getting more players. When I asked for an extension on the 15 days they didn't even respond with a yes or no... They said "Best of luck at the tables" and closed chat.

i know fink...to be honest this isnt the fault of the support guys. Im not sure how many support guys there are but no doubt theyre swamped. I know all new sites have teething problems too but the whole setup really is a joke.

that happened to me twice as well - thankfully i was at the play money tables.
I registered for a $1.10 sng because it was the only tournament available....15 minutes and we were only on something like the 4th hand. Someone went all and i called with j9 of clubs and got the hell out of there (baring in mind its 3.30am here too!!!)

anyway guys, im off to bed.
Ive emailed my contact there about all of this. I hope this all gets resolved soon

OMG talk about glitches... who wants to play blind-free rings? I just sat down with my $10 and was off the blind, they dealt me cards without making me pay. When the blinds came around to me I sat out through my blinds and came back in on the button... didnt have to pay a dime LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! I've sat through 3 orbits now, folded every hand and I still have $10

I just spoke to support via thier online chat and the guy ( not Gordon but a Stan) said there was nothing he could do.

I watched you play your S&G Fonz, it had to be brutal. Wasn't it 1 cigarette and 1 cup of coffee per hand? lol

Did you know that when you went out, a button came up in your seat asking people to join? Joining a S&G in progress when someone was knocked out just isn't right. Never heard of a re-buy S&G.

I played a 6 man S&G and won it and never knew what the other guy had.

I also didn't know how many places paid (I assumed 2) and had no clue to the payout until it was over. That is NOT GOOD.

YES the site is VERY SLOW. Most likely they bought one of the poker engines from a now defunct early site.

I've made suggestions to support and also offered my services to help make the system more friendly. I am an automation programmer now but do a ton of work on operator interfaces. My talents are VERY applicable to any poker site as it is simply just a different type of operator interface.

I agree the site is barren but all sites have to start somewhere.

Also, I did get my $10 just as you described, I had no problem and did it at exactly 5pm. I was probably one of the lucky ones who got in at just the right time to avoid problems.

Good luck to all, I'm sure it will get better BUT they have a VERY LONG road to go to even come close to how good Poker Stars is.

IM trying to talk to someone right now to see if i can get my 10. SHould i tell stan to bugger off so i can talk to gordon??? Oh btw did i tell you i had to manualy go in and install parts of the software because part of the file was corrupted? Yeah that was fun turned out it was just the IMage parts.

Im being told i didnt make it in time to receive the bonus that we already had a 100 ppl sign up.
