Question sit and go bankroll and strategy

I love the sit ang go on pokerstars,i played online for now 5 months and doing pretty good...I dont have a big bankroll(trying to build one)..so i started with 25$ and im now at 160$ only playing 5+.50 sit and go on ps...

Im thinking about moving to the 10$+1 sit and go

and there my questions!!

Will i see a big difference between the 5$ and 10$ sit and go ??

Players are better or no difference??

Thanks for your answer!!

I usually play $5 SnG on stars myself and once in a while try the $10. No main difference between the two, other than my BR not being big enough to play the $10 comfortably.

Most poker authors recommend in the neighborhood of 26 to 30 buy-ins for any given level to avoid "risk of ruin." So you would need $154 for the $5.50 level.

In my experience there is little if any difference in skill level between a $5.50 and an $11 game. In fact, I don't think you really run into better play until about the $33 level or higher. Remember, there are just as many rich idiots as there are poor ones like us.

just a word for the wise, i would not focus your entire bankroll on sit and go's, unless you find it extremely profitable.

your spending alot of time at the poker table, and not making that much profit. your better of making more money in ring games, because it is much more profitable in the long run. but if your comfortable playing sit and gos, more power to you

and there is no difference in the play as the levels go up. Ive seen tight sit n gos at 5.50 and ive seen a table full of chasers at 110 dollar sit and gos. so dont worry about it being more difficult.

You'r telling me there is more profit playing .5/.10 ring games than $5 SnG ? U would have to play 2+ hours to double up your buy-in in most cases and all it takes its one bad beat to loose your whole stack. Lets say u play two 27 man $5 SnG which are not hard at all to finish in the money. All u would need is one top 3 finish to show a decent profit of about $15, and they usually take about 1 hour and a half to finish.

SNG's, for most people, is a better way of building up funds. I think the only way to become truly profitable playing ring games is at the higher limits.

LOL, I just played a $10 SNG on Poker Stars that lasted 2.5 hours. Oh wait, that was the THF game.

On some sites there is a big difference between 10$ and 5$ games - Often there is little. What i would say however is that there will be more "inexperienced" players in the 5$ games. There will be more risky plays that could knock players out being undertaken. There will often be 1 more player out after 6-7 rounds of blinds. In addition in a 10$ game there will be more players who can play the game well when there are 4 or less players in the game and also who can play HU. In 5$ games you are more likely to be able to get to HU with a really small stack and still win than you are in a 10$ game. But the difference is less than the differences associated with what time of the day you are playing on.

These differences are slight.

If you have 100+ in your account then by all means try ONE but you probably want 200$ to play 10$ 1 table games safely and if you have a bad spell at that (it goes down to 120$) then you might need to jump back down to 5$ again. The main difference between the two is one of bankroll - YOUR bankroll and that has little to do with the opponents.

That is just so odd. The Stars SNG's run long enough as it is, but I've never played in one that went longer than 75 minutes. I guess the length of the blind levels of regular SNG's versus the private games make that big of a difference. It is also why most of the time I can't play the THF games on Stars -- I just don't have that kind of time.

So this is how you build a bankroll. I'll have to try playing more SNGs
