Default starting the action with low pocket pairs in nlhe

I first believed in a 10 handed game I should try to limp or call small raises with all low pocket pairs hoping to hit a set and take down a large pot. I am slowly realizing that it might be a good idea to inititiate action preflop with low pocket pairs as it is much harder to put someone on a low set when they raised preflop. What are peoples thoughts on this? When do you feel it is a good time to come in with a raise with pocket pairs below 9.

Late Position w/ no raises in front of you, say two behind the button. One of those sneaky raises, AKA the minimum raise... which i see alot of from KK AA Ak and such... you do that on your 66 and the board comes 10-6-A, you better hope that A 10 is out there to suck out some chips on, cause they have 4 outs to your sneaky set.

personally, I don't think playing low pocket pairs from EP is good EV, whether it's NL or limit. Middle and Late is fine although this depends on how low it is and how much or a raise you face in front of you if any. It's all very table, position and player specific.

If the table you're playing at is very passive and there's hardly been any preflop raises then you could possibly play these from EP but whether I would raise with them is debateable.

i go back to basics with these cards, any raises i'll drop them, if i can see a flop for 1 bet i'll happily see it, if no set i'll happily fold on flop. obviously circumstances play a part but in general...

Late position depending on how many peeps are in the pot i would just call cause say you do raise and some one has an overpair there stack might be going straight to the middle like if i get AA or even KK in the blind and i get raised before i am either going to reraise depending on the bet or push with my stack str8 to the middle and make it a pot to see what you really got.

It depends on how the table has been playing...if you have been playing at the table for a while..and you start to get a read on some people...it maybe the perfect time to go all in..a lot has to do with chip stacks and positions...if I see someone that readily bets a lot with Jack 10 and Ace King and Queen King..I have no problem raising with a pocket pair or even going all in...at the very least you are a 51% fav to win the hand..if you start to peg people take advantage of them..

in a big table I would limp with a low pair, because someone who limped with an ace 5 and catches his two pair wont suspect trips
