How much do you change your poker game when playing online i recently changed my style of game a lot. Nearly everyone likes to think of their style as tight agressive as they have heard thats the best way to be....being truthful, i dont think a lot of players who say this are.
My personal view is that i was playing tight agressive....however not in the right way. Whilst i was playing agressive with good hands i was way too tight with marginal hands and allowed myself to be bullied out of pots i should be winning.
After a few weeks i started to see a big difference in my game. Im seeing a little more flops, im calling small raises when i used to fold (when i shouldnt have folded) and when i do get a good hand in getting a lot of chips since i wasnt playing too tight - people are more willing to call me cos im a bit more involved in pots. At the same time im still dropping hands when i should and overall my money management is better.
All the above is true in brick and mortar games where im playing great just now. It isnt true on playing online. Since changing my style a little ive been doing very poorly online. Have i had bad beats - yes, have i caught good cards - yes. So the cards cant be the problem. Im playing the same way i play away from the pc but im not getting the same results
Ive been playing online for 1.5 - 2 years. I know its a different kinda game. For someone that used to do well in 10 player sngs, im finding it very frustrating to go through a spell of games without finishing in the money (ive still finished in the money a few times but much less consistently)
Whilst im finding it frustrating, im not tooo down about all this in that i know i can improve the online aspect of my game - perhaps im still find finding my feet a little after changing the way i play.
Has anyone else had this problem?
