Default Should I have called the All In?

THF Player of the Year
I played a $3 rebuy yesterday on JetSet and luckily I qualified for the target tournament. During that game there was a hand I folded but other said I should have called. I want to know if I should have called or that my fold was good. Here's the situation:

- There are 7 players left and 6 players qualify for the target tournament.
- Big blind is 600.
- Kaartkeizer is chipleader with 42,000 roughly 10 or 15,000 more than #2.
- Panda is the lowstack with 5400.
- LeBigGross has 11,600.
- LeBigGross is in the big blind.

Everyone before me folded and I raise to 1,800 with and LBG calls.
The flop comes:
I bet 2,400 and LBG goes All In putting me in a tough spot. Calling a 6,800 bet with AK high and only 2 cards to come or folding and giving him my chips without a fight. I fold and I complain about my stupid AK never hits and some players say I should have called because it was only a small percentage of my chipstack, I have enough chips to call and I should try to knock someone out. LBG told me his cards were (I don't know the suits):

So I think it was a good fold because only an Ace would have helped me or a runner runner straight. Still there were some who thought I should have called. Was I correct in folding or should I have called the All In?

It would have been stupid to call...I might not have even played the hand with a limp...let the low stacks fight it out...you have a seat!

If you dont think you were being bluffed you shouldnt have any problem folding there. With 6 seats and 7 players left and LBG pushes like that you have to put him on the Queen. With 2 cards to come you only have 6 outs. (Really 3 but you didnt know that) I'll save my $6,800 for another battle. I'm sure Panda was one of the one's inticing you to make the call next time. LOL

you made the right decision there kaart. you didnt want to double up a player at that point. they were saying you should have called hoping you would take him out and guarenteing them a seat. hope to see you at the final table sunday

You made the right play by folding. There's no reason for you to risk that many chips with nothing more than a draw.

its an automatic fold. Youve not even got a pair yet. If his stack was lower then you could maybe get the correct pot odds to call

you werent committed. No brainer in my opinion - its stupid calling an allin worth a quarter of your chips on a draw and its even worse calling an allin with no pair and just overcards

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. But ScottishBen was observing the game and he said I should have called regardless. And I was thinking why did he say that, there should be some logic behind it. Some theory of which I have no clue of. I still want to know what Ben's opinion is about this.

Ben probably told you to call because:

1> Even if he has a pair you could hit a A or K to beat him and end the tourny
2> Even if you call him and lose you are still the chip leader.

You had so many chips that there was no danger of you busting out or not getting a seat so why not try and end it?

because kaart would have went down top 30+ chips and the guy would have doubled up to 20+ chips - it would have seriously cut the lead he had.

Would you have called this fink?

If everyone folded before you and LBG is the only one left to act, then i just would have moved all-in preflop. Make him commit all his chips if he wants to.
