I was trying to point out why Ben probably told him he should have moved in. Had it been me I would have gotten all of my chips in before the flop (assuming no one with more that 20K was sitting behind me) with AK and if I had played it the way kaart played preflop I would have moved in after the flop instead of betting 2400 to put the decision for his tourny life on him but I can't say I would have called in the above example.

In the $36+3 satalites, toward the end if I had 20K+ with one seat to go and no one else at my table has more than 10K I am moving all in every hand regardless of my cards (but not necessarily calling someones all in when I have junk). At that point any 2 cards can win, I just want the tourny to be over, a loss won't affect my chances of gaining my seat and besides... no one with more than 5K chips is likely to call me anyways.

I still hold by my call kaart.

Ok I could probably bring forth my poker tracker stats on the guy but I have a couple of tourneys about to start so i wont.

1) you have loads of chips and win or lose it doesnt affect your bank roll
2) its a crazy hour of the morning and you need sleep
3) in terms of the way he has been playing a bluff is quite possible - I dont believe his kqos but ANYTHING short of this and a call has comfortable pot odds.

Where i would have played the hand differently is i wouldnt have bet where he reraised you. I dont think a bet is bad but it does set up a reraise all in giving you a difficult decision.

If you are able to read him as qk or qa or qqq then i think a fold is justifiable but in his position he could have far far less and i think a call is appropriate.

fold isnt bad per say but if you are going to fold an all in here you shouldnt bet in this position in my book and you have comfortable pot odds to call assuming he doesnt have kq or better - unless you are up against a severly tight/solid and risk adverse player with the chip stack you have i still say CALL CALL CALL. And would hold my opinion, despite support that the fold was the wrong decision.

I will say i thougt you played a great tourney kaaart. This hand was not actually remotely relevant as call or fold your qualification was already totally safe at this point.

9.5k in pot before

6400 to call

assuming 35% of the time you are ahead here and will win 75% of the time

.8* 15900*6/48*42/47+
.8* 15900*37/48*6/47
+.35*.75*15900

this is an over simplification of the odds of course and is actually assuming that kq, ak and qq are not held but it does give an idea

Whilst i think there will be a few more draws in your favour this does actually proove that i got the math wrong. near equal rewards to call or fold it is correct in a tourney to fold EVEN in this situation. I did my sums wrong i am afraid but it is a pretty close thing. others might dispute the notion of you being ahead here being as likely as 35%. Again based on my reads of him this is about what i put it on.

Still i now accept that your fold was correct

Kaart it was a good fold. You practicly have a seat guaranteed with your stack. However you can also see the views of the others, with all the chips you have behind you to call the extra 6000 odd would not hurt you, you've already invested about that and you have a fair chance of knocking out a short stack and finishing it there and then. However if I were you I would be constantly pressing the fold button regardless and watching for another player to bust out.

I agree with your fold in this situation. What's the hurry to end it, your seat is in the bag and this is a position that patience will pay off. Besides the other players at the table could give a rats ass if that was a good fold or not, they just want you to win them an easy seat in the final 6.
