thats where pot odds and percentages come into play...raise for value or when the odds are in your favor..sure you will not get rid of the calling stations but that can be good for future hands,,,he may take that pot with rags, but the next time he calls u down , have the nuts

If you have a pair on the flop, id stay in the hand til the river.I also only play premium hands and rarely raise in low limit games.

That's funny that you just figured that out fonz, i thought you were a decent player, you must be playing low limit games though. In a high stakes game you will find people actually do respect a raise, at least for the most part. It is the nature of the game, the action is 'limited' so people are gonna chase, another reason why NL is the granddaddy.

I dont play limit for that very reason...you cant bet anybody out of a pot. Everybody chases, and raises. You wind up having to play for 5 times more money than you wanted to, and somebody that shouldnt have been in the hand in the first place winds up catching something.
