Default Phil Hellmuth is the Best

You can talk about your Negreanu's and your Ivey's and your Johnny Chan's etc. but there is no one that can lay down monsters like Hellmuth.

I have seen him laydown QQ pre-flop to a Jennifer Harmon limp with pocket Aces...in the 2005 World series he got his favorate hand AK and flopped an A...he laid it down to a decent raise...not an all-in but a decent raise and his opponent had AA...he also laid down TT on the turn with a blank board when his opponent had QQ....just how many players do you know that would laydown QQ pre-flop to a limp or AK at the flop when an A flopped....I don't know of any...Hellmuth has not done much lately, because he has been having the worst luck with "bad beats and suck-outs"...if his luck was a little better he would have earned his 10th bracelette already.

Last year I saw him lay down the KK to a decent raise. The guy had hit a set.

Hellmuths face lit up when the guy bet as if something was telling him he was beat. The guy can read people, he must have killer preception. He may go off sometimes, but most of the time he is calm. T.V. just knows how to slant the view, hellmuth is an exelent player.

I agree, one of the most amazing players I've ever seen.

He is an absolutely phenomonal player, but his attitude and ego prevent him from reaching a level higher than anyone else.
