Managing bankroll - BR building strategies?

Hello,
I don't know if it fits in this category, but still... I have this question, how you ppl get to manage/grow your BR up? For example you deposited small amount let's say 50 $ to your account. What whould be your plan to grow it up? And let's say you're money-kinda player not seeking big achievements - money is nr1 goal. What are your strategies notes tips for managing online bankroll?

by the way very interesting strategy is "2 to 1000 in ten days",
the point is that your goal is to "double up" your bankroll everyday(and not more), so in ten days your 2 bucks becomes 1000$ if succesful but this is very experimental

I hope you read everything in that thread, because there is a lot of useful information. I have a few questions for you, Kubikas, first. Do you play ring tables or tournaments? If you play ring tables, do you play limit or no limit? If you play tournaments, do you play SNGs or MTTs (primarily). Have you been playing real money on online poker sites, or moving up from play money?

I ask these because the type of information you need depends on what games you play. Personally, I came from play money SNGs/MTTs to real money. Once beginning real money, I started playing limit ring tables, and that's where I stayed.

The thread has great info. I've found that the hardest part of poker is money management. I have built up a bankroll over time ( + 1200 in a month) and have also done it in a day, ( $40 into $680 in one day). But each time I had a plan (write it down, as this will help you stick to it) and I stuck to it. You have to decide at what bank roll you will move up games, when you will quite, i.e. "If I get to $4.20 or below or if I hit $6 or above, I will quite for the day." Also, number one advice, "DONT DRINK AND PLAY" or "Friends don't let frinds drink and play poker." LOL I have lost more money when I have been drinking.... And won great amounts when playing sober. It's all in how you decide to play. Are you a play for fun person, or all about the money guy. If the later, then treat this very seriously and be on your A game at all times. If you're playing for fun then stick to what you can afford to lose and have a good time. Hope this helps.

ring games probably bring a safer increase in bankroll - particularly omaha high/low and plo IF you have the discipline to play at micro limits rather than risking a large chunk of your bankroll BUT only if you are good at omaha. Players are generally pretty clueless (UB is an exception) in the omaha variations and this represents a safe profit if you never risk more than 1/5th of your bankroll at the table.

If you are good at heads uo then playing 5$ games should get your BR up to 100$. Once at 100$ you can play in sngs 1 - 2 tables etc and if you are any good should be able to sustain a profit from them. If your BR falls then revert to ring games/ HU IF you have strength in them. Otherwise you may need to do the more risky 1 table sng's.

With 100$ you can start playing in MTT's. It should be stressed though that you dont need to play MTT's to get a big bankroll. They are just the quickest, riskiest way of doing so. Once you get up to 200$ it is just a case of avoiding too many expensive games (any MTT, sng's 50$ 2 tables 15$ etc) and playing in a profitable way. If the BR starts to drop then you need to drop down stakes to help preserve it.
