I often play it like Grumbar, but i experiment with both ways. What matters is who is in the hand and where you are in position. If you have the jackals calling before you, there is a chance they are playing rags - you either have to check/call and pray for a trap opportunity, or bet high and assume they have junk (then count your chips). How MUCH to bet to isolate is the trick in early tables I've found. If the whole table is in when its your turn, most likely at that point only an All-in will shake it out. If the table is lightly called and you havent seen those players play much at all yet, the standard fare works fine. And if they call you they probably have cards. I would personally not recommend either strategy ALL of the time, there are other variables- each hand - that need to be considered.
