All of my live play experience is limit play. I used to be a prop player at the Reno Hilton. One big mistake is see no limit players make in limit is that they tend to see too many flops and play too many bad cards. This doesn't hurt you as much in no limit, because you can often make back what you spent seeing many cheap flops in one good pot. Limit is entirely different. There is only so much you can bet when you do catch a hand that you can't make it back unless you get on a rush. You want to have your rushes turn into profit, not just trying to catch up.
Position is also very important as it is in no limit, but in limit there are very few hands to see a flop with in early position, namely AA, KK, AK, AQ, and QQ.
In middle position the list gets a bit longer, all of the above plus JJ, 10-10, 9-9, 8-8, AJ, A 10, A 9, KQ, KJ, QJ, Q 10, J 10, and K 10.
Late position or button brings in hands like Ax suited, 7-7, 6-6, 5-5, 4-4, 3-3, 2-2, and mid connectors.
If you use these starting requirments, you will find that you are bleeding less and winning more. Hope this helps |
