Default Tournament play after a big hand

Ok so you're in a tournament, the blinds are still quite low and you've just won a monster meaning you've got quite a few more chips than anyone else, Im wondering what strategy seems to work better, quiet slow strong play, or aggressive loose. Obviously with a big chip advantage you can play a lot worse hole cards than you naturally would, either as a bluffing tactic (knowing that other players will fear) or on the offchance you catch again since the blinds are low enough to allow you to see the flops cheaply. I was wondering because Ive been in that situation a few times (online at least) and was wondering whether anyone had any advice?

I think it depends on the buy-in for the tournament. If it was a small tournament( such as $5 or $10) then i would play tight becausxe there are still many donkeys who will call your bluffs. Now if you were playing a $100, $50, or bigger tournament your bluffing may be more succesful. But once you get caught bluffing, you really have to wait a long time to try again.

I think that if the blinds are still quite low then there isnt any reason to get overly aggresive at this point. However you should open up your starting requirement some whenever you have a big lead. Play more starting hands than you normally would. So be a little more aggresive, but not a lot.

With the blinds at low limits, it's more difficult to make bluffing worthwhile. I find it more effective to play quietly for a while, until the blinds pick up and a few people get knocked out. Then right when the blinds hit something like 25/50 or 50/100, start pressing harder.

Default Winning a big hand early

The most important thing to remember when winnig a big pot early in the tournament is that the simple fact that it is EARLY. Winning a big pot this early does not mean anything, its just that you have a jump start on your competitors, it doesnt guarantee anything. In saying that, yoou should not change your play whatsoever when you win a hand early, you play your style play as long as you have the chips to not have to play short stacked poker

I like Empirical's answer, you don't have any big jump on the tournament or even your table for that fact...it's early...the blinds are still the same...the aggressive players are still there and so are the passive and wild players...wait for a few of them to get knocked out and for the blinds to go up, but keep up with your same game...if anything tighten up a little bit...you don't want to give the chips back...but when needed you have the chips to be aggressive with, aggressive in betting that is not looseness in play....when the blinds go up and the crazy players get knocked out and you know your opponents better you can be a little more of a bully in your betting amounts on selected plays.
