Personally i think there is something more to tilt than not playing at your best. I think that part of the consequenses of tilting are like a ship lifting up slightly, then a bit more, then a bit more and then water filling in and the ship sinking badly.

If you play in a disciplined rational style you should be able to avoid going in anything amounting to a tilt beyond bad play for a couple of minutes (a mini tilt if you like). If you are disciplined and rational then you can avoid repeat bad beats (AA hitting 1010 catching trip 10s etc) affecting your play. Mini tilts can sometimes be avoided by simply not playing the next hand or two if you feel the turn of the cards has affected you and focusing your energies on regaining composure. You should also beware that following a big drop in chips (or a moderate drop in chips from a bad beat) a player can go into a mini tilt. You must realise that they become a dangerous opponent during this period. Sure they are more likely to misplay a hand but they become harder to predict so profit can be made but it is risky profit.

Passive and aggressive tilt as you define them are easily avoided by discipline and studying bidding patterns

As you define tilts you could add :-

1) bankroll tilt - players playing outwith bankroll so finishing JUST in the money becomes overly important to them
2) tired tilt - players playing not neccisariliy with destractions but in a manner in which through lack of ability to play their A game they are not maximising their playing %
3) irrationality tilt - players who value set cards way beyond their actual value (63os 69, AK post flop)

I could go on.... but to me these might be issues regarding profit maximisation but they are not all really tilt

Tilt is clearly something that can be evidenced to various degrees in other people but it is something that can be avoided to a large degree though constantly analyising your own play, looking at playing stats, and not getting caught up in short termism.

Yes confidence can take a bashing or a boost beyond helpful levels but I can honestly say that I have reached a point where I can do mini tilt (lose my game for up to 25 min or so) but am very unlikely to go into proper tilt.

That doesnt mean I always play my A game but my A game my B game and my C game are all profitable. Yes my false A game, my D game and my E game are bad but I can often avoid playing much for big amounts when I am not playing in a profitable way.
