Default couple of questions

my first question is about implied pot odds vs hit and run play vs. ring action vs. tourney play. do you guys think we should play the odds when trying a hit and run? today in $0.25-0.50 nl on poker stars i put in 10 bucks and was dealt a total of 3 hands. first hand a 2 os. just comming in the game , so i was on the bb or had to post bb to get in. i ended up winning with 2 pair a's and 2's. won 6.50. next hand i was dealt a 4 os. i didn't have to put anything in the pot, but when it came to me five people called and i would have gotten good pot odds to call, 5-1. i didn't call. the flop came out qh qs 3d -7h 3c. ok remember im tryin a hit and run. i might not play 5 more hands to bear out the odds. anyway the third hand i was dealt qc jc. the flop was 5c 7c 9d. somebody bet into the pot $3. i decided i was up 6.50 with a flush draw. not the best hand after the flop but a chance to improve, so i called river card was the ac, so i made my flush and went on the win the hand. all this typing to say i didn't play pot odds and i think it worked out well since i was only going to play a few hands. what do you think, pot odds play em or not while tryin a hit n run?

ok, live action ring game you have to play the pot odds to be a winner. and play your blinds. ok no argument we all know that right? any thoughts on playing at a 6 person table rather then a 9 person table? i think when playing at a 6 person table the blinds come to fast where your playing at a $1-2 game or higher.

tournaments. i'm not sure pot odds work as well in tourney's. in the begining. it's just starting and five people are in the pot it's $400 to you should you call with a 5 4os? $2000 in the pot. i just don't have the chips to play the odds early in a tourney. i think i'm going to wait to call a big bet just for the odds. now if it's $30 or so i call all the time for odds and i call a small raise in the blinds too. any thought?

last one. i have been having trouble lately with keeping my focus after a few hours. in a freeroll on jetset i was at $15770 in chips. only 49 people left. 36 hit's money, im in 9th place. all i remember is i got a playable starting hand like kqs, and i lost focus and pushed it to much, raised and when i knew i was beat i raised. what the hell was i thinking? a boneheaded paly for sure. sooo anybody have any tricks they use to stay focused? i don't want that to continue to happen.

I just had a terrible bad beat.

in hand 35 suited,

flop is 2, 4, 6

i check to slow play he bets 3$ i call, turn is seven

I check he raises 5$ I go allin for 42$ he waits for about 20 seconds right now im thinking the only hane that could beat me is 57, so he calls cards turn he has 3 to seven I have 2 to 6.

those beats are bad but mine are unparralleled, I have lost 90$ today mainly on 4 all -is, each one I have put my money in with the best hand, this is sickening, I cant even describe it, my friends say I'm the best player and If I had average luck I could make a living, my bad beats are so bad its bad and bad and bad and bad beats bad bad bad. Im about to throw this monitor on the ground, and no I doubt anyone knows how I feel, my bad beats are so much mroe common and so unreal.

As far as your last question goes, you know what I think helps. I'm convinced that the longer people play, or the more you exercise only one brain (the left for poker), the more it wants to turn over thinking duties for a while to the other.

Just like when your left bicep gets tired of doing curls, you naturally start doing them with the right. In this same way the brain is very much like a muscle. And I happen to think you can last longer if you alternate arms so to speak, between poker and music.

And I'm definitely sure you know, that I'm totally unqualified to answer any of your other questions. Sry.

Sometimes if you're losing focus, it may be better to just sit out a couple hands, get a drink or something to eat, or something to that effect. The longer you tend to be playing, the harder it is to concentrate sometimes if you are not getting playable hands very often.
