i would call but i would first see how many chips he has and how long it took him to raise and i would also study his playing habbits, because some people like to power people out of the hand and bully the table around, i would defiantley call though

I did. He either had AA, AQ, AJ, or K10. I wouldn't have gone all in. He could have 6 hands higher than me. That's too much risk

the question remains though... why did he go all-in if he was checked? as stokenut said, that was silly play by your opponent... he was lucky you had an unfortunate hand

Not really scotia. Was he a good or sloppy player? Scotia some people play that to bluff. If he had checked he would have probably raised at the turn or river.

Personally, I didn't had called that... But I'd never thought he had AA but AJ or AQ. I think that if he had a hand like A10, AK or anything correct but losing against the two worst pair, he probably had made a pot-sized bet to see if you dont get them. I don't take a so hard decision in early hands of a turbo, people want to take the lead quick and try to fool people by betting very high when the good play is to try to make the other call.

I think here is a strong case for folding. There are so many strong hands that beat you AQ, AJ, K10 AA QQ JJ - all quite probable with the betting so far. The fact he is going all in tells you 1) this is an outragous bluff for very few chips 2) he has something strong and Ax doesnt do it. Why did he go all in though. Noone bluffs for that few chips and if they do you will get a better chance at them later. Going all in he may do to set up bluffs for future, to disguise the way he plays AA or in the hopes next time he bets big with a strong hand someone will call. Who knows but why risk all your chips with something to far from the nuts.

Also it is not as if - even if you have the best of it - that he will lose as he will have some outs as he will have at least an A, K or 10 most of the time. Folding here also sets up some sslow plays for the future. So fold should be the correct play. If it wasnt a turbo then it is a clear fold. With a turbo you are less guarenteed to get enough hands to exploit reads/table image but you should still get a better/ safer oppertunity to double through than this. If it was A87 and you held 87 then folding to me would be alot harder and I am not sure what I would do but in the scenario you describe I am surprised so many agreed with your course of action.
