phew!
the rules arent so strict here in the uk - there was a game last week in the backroom of my local pub (hush hush!) but i honestly dont think police bother about it as much here as they appear to do in the states

your lucky you know that cop!

yea ive played in new york, now i find all this out lol, phew...here in massachusetts, its legal to play at a home as long as the house doesnt make any money without playing, and as long as the stakes dont cause a pot bigger then 200$. So as long as you dont play some Hi-limit, and stick to the smaller hands, you should be safe. As for bars, i havnt had any bad luck like you did tiger, nor heard a friend have it happen. If it does, theres always Foxwoods casino 30mins away, they got great tables, full of newbie torrist...aww the sweet sweet satisfaction of taking their money
