Default Pocket K's...I need help

My problem is not when I don't hit anything after the flop. Generally, I can tell when I have the hand won and when I'm beat. The problem, oddly enough, comes when I flop a set. It seems that it doesn't matter whether early position, mid or on the button, check, small bet, big bet, or all-in, I cannot win with this hand. Usually what ends up calling me is a flush draw (keep in mind people online often think needing runner-runner constitutes a strong flush draw) or a legitimate straight draw. More often than not, these people hit their draws.

I'm at a loss strategy-wise. I always make a sizeable (3-5x big blind) raise preflop with KK. Should I just go all-in preflop? Does the size of my bet signal to others that I may be bluffing, even though I am not?

I don't expect you guys to divulge all your secrets (after all, you'll wish you never did once you meet me heads-up ). However, whatever help or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you get a hand like KK's you need to play it strong from the very beginning, You need to be very aggressive, and this does not mean allin, sometimes you can be more aggressive by not putting all your chips in the middle. Try Gambling Pre-flop bet a large amount 3 or 4 times the blinds, this should push alot of people out, if you are playing for real money. I havent seen many real money tables where people would call 3-5 times the blinds pre-flop on a full draw and tbh i dont think there is much of a thing as a bluff pre-flop, except late in a tourney where the blinds can consume players.
While reading your post i couldnt help but wonder if you were playing at play money tables. If you are playing at play money tables the play is very loose indeed, people will call things they would never call in real money. If you are playing real money, tell me the pokerroom, and the players names cos im coming to play! That sounds like heaven on earth! lol

You are playing the Cowboys right. Bet 3-4 times the blinds, if you are raised, and the player raising is loose push all-in - you probably have the best hand. Alot of people have always think they lose good pre-flop hands, but the truth is they automatically asume that they are golden, you need to be carefull, if you are in a late position and there are alot of raises, you mgiht want to consider folding and not taking the risk. Usually with hands like this i will play them aggressively from the start, if i lose to a bad beat then i will go punch a wall lol. It doesnt happen often, my stats on KK for winning is about 69%. I.e out of all the hands i have played in the last year, the times i have one with KK is 69% my wins with AA is 81% These are good hands and if you have a look at your stats you will see you win on the most of the time

What Zaphor says is correct. You do not want any more than one opponent....you need to analyze your opponents and figure out how much you have to bet pre-flop to only get one opponent...then after the flop, you have to keep betting strong to get the opponent to fold...you don't want your opponent hitting 2 pair or tripps etc....if the opponent doesn't fold with your flop bet, increase it heavy on the turn bet etc....but be careful that the opponent didn't outdraw you on the flop!

Thanks for the help. I really just needed reassurance that I was doing the right thing. I've been keeping track, I'm 0 for my last 11 with cowboys. I must just be on a terrible run of luck I guess. These beats have happened at real money tables on Pokerstars (.05-.10, I'm not exactly rich) and bricks-and-mortar games against players that are usually fairly skilled. I don't make a big raise preflop unless I have a monster, so maybe I should just be glad that my opponents call me with drawing hands. Eventually, my luck will turn. I'm just waiting for that day.
