Default Hand Groupings.....

David sklansky origionaly invented the hand grouping sytle. Below are what he has put into groups. Best hands going down, the blow hands are all said to be hands that you should feel comfortable playing. I personally would fold some of the hands below group 5 but that is my style of play.

Group 0: AA KK
Group 1: QQ JJ AKs
Group 2: TT AK AQs AJs KQs
Group 3: AQ 99 ATs KJs QJs KTs
Group 4: 88 AJ KQ QTs A9s JTs AT A8s
Group 5: KJ 77 QJ KT QT JT A7s K9s Q9s T9s J9s
Group 6: 66 55 44 33 22 A5s A6s A4s A3s A2s
Group 7: A9 K9 98s 87s 76s Kxs(?) T8s(?) 97s(?) 86s(?) 54s(?)

(?) Denotes play depending on weakness/strength of table and players, late/button position, number of limpers.

thanks for sharing this with us - I have been thinking in terms of groupings of non- premium hands but more in sophisticated/ flexible terms to deal with groups in terms of 1) good heads up vs good multipot 2) good/bad implied odds hands (hands that are more likely/ less likely to win big if they hit eg 22 catching trips etc. and 3) other factors) But will need to develop further.

There are some group threes that I would happily fold to minimum raises (eg 99) and I am not a big fan of suited connectors but it is an interesting guide
