I don't generally find it beneficial to slow play unless I have the absolute unbeatable nuts (or if it's not the nuts, the hand that I really truly fully believe is going to hold up as the best hand). I like to either get more money in the pot or force out people on draws. It's a double-edged sword though because the more cash that ends up in the pot the more reasonable it is for people to call with draws.

Well, if they're calculating pot odds, it acutally makes little sense to call big bets with draws unless they're in a late position and they see others calling the bets. Even then, a lot of people calling big bets means that the straight or flush they're trying to get might not even be a winning hand.

a problem with your check-raise theory is sometimes when you do this, you will check, they bet, u raise and then they re-raise with a better hand than you've got...say yur holding Kh 10h and the community cards are Qh-Jh-As-2h-3c you may think yur holding the best hand with a flopped straight made better by a king high flush but when you try to slow play that your gonna get caught with yur opponent holding Ah9h for the higher Ace high flush...just dont get burnt
