Although very colorful, it's quite obvious that Sklansky is referring to implied odds by his talk about 4th and 5th Streets. I'm very aware of who he is, and I don't believe that once you've put money into a pot that it doen't count as part of the pot. If you put $300 on top of $1400, it becomes $1700. All the math theory in the world can't change that. But if I misinterpereted some part of the meaning of pot odds, I'll fix my post, no biggie. However, I do think a PM would've been a little nice here. Would you care to be wrong about something in a public forum and .......1)-Have someone correct you by showing you up in said forum? ....or 2)-Help you correct your mistake in a positive, non-chalant manner? I was just trying to help. Sorry I don't know it all, like you.------------btw ...this is the second time you've blasted me when I was just trying to help newer players. What's your vendetta?-------------------EDIT-The day after St Patty's day- Guys, this post will show you just what a crybaby 8 yards of beer can make one become. Franky was/is right about NOT including one's own call into the pot odds equation. I had been playing the way that I wrote the initial post for a long time, thinking that was the correct way. Now I just wonder how many pots I've lost/bad calls I've made by doing the wrong math. Thanks to Franky for the clarification, and sorry THF for giving info that wasn't all correct.........NEVER underestimate the RAW POWER ...of green beer.
