I think that once poker looses its popularity, you will see alot of people that were plaing decent profitable poker, get eaten alive by the pros. If someone wanted to take a shot at the pros, I wish them luck, but you better be able to hang with the existing pros, because eventually playing them, will become your living.

I still think poker is going strong and just think say for some reason you had a really amazing week and you did place like top 10 in a wpt you would be set for like the next year 100k i think i can make that work for a year or to atleast take my game to the next level play.

When I was in High School my mother always had a large problem with how much poker I played. When I started college at Purdue last year I started playing for real money on pokerstars and played in a bunch of tournys at school. After awhile the money from these games started to pile up and I figured hey why not finish college and get a degree, then try my luck with playing poker for a living. I think the key thing in starting a poker carrer is having some money to back you up. You just can't go out and expect to win every time right from the start. So its important to have some back up money. My parents still think i'm nuts to this day that you can have a carrer in poker. I stand on the other end of that argument. After I'm done with college I plan to play in my first WSOP. So if anybody is going in say 4 years, I'll see you at the final table.

I think that the surge of people is just like any other business. If people see a profit being made and think they can get a piece of that then they will attempt to get a piece of it. It is all supply and demand... Everything will level off and only the best players will be the ones that end up making money.

I think to an extent, there will always be atleast a decent sized groupl of players who are able to make a living playing, me personally, I expect to try atleast, but it will be after college, unless I make it as a pro boxer lol.
