Default Aggressive?

A copule of weeks ago I had put $50 in my PokerStars account. I limited my play

to small buy in tourneys and sit n gos and small limit tables .01/.02 holdem and

.04/.08 stud hi lo. The sit ngos I played a variety of games. I went on a run to

where I got up to $140 and was playing well and seemed to be reading

everything right. The better i was playing the more aggressive I was and it

was working. The last few days has knocked me back down to around $80.

I've ben making decent reads and getting outdrawn and an occasional bad

play by myself too mixxed in. I tried to go back to a more conservative play

like when I started my good run but I seem to get stuck in bad chip positions

in the sngs and tourneys and end up getting beat because of the position my

chip count puts me in while being conservative. Do I stay aggressive and

assume the cards will start falling in a good cycle again or should I try to mix

the conservative play with an occasional aggressive play.

Be aggressive on your betting...but you want to be tight on your play decisions.

dont play stud for money but in holdem the quality of players is so low that a consistant and reliable profit can be made with out being aggressive or actually having to do very much. No-one really folds much at these low limits so aggressive plays to get people to fold rarely work.

Aggressive plays work best when you are winning at a table. If you are winning people are scared of you and if you are losing they are less so - it is worth ajusting your style of play accordingly.

Also it sounds like BAD aggressive play probably cost you your money. I have lost decent parts of my bankroll with bad aggressive plan when on tilt. Key to telling the difference is to read through your hands (its boring i know) - When your on TILT bluffs on supposedly good reads dont always stand up to scrutiny.

I think sometimes the overconfidence makes you lose your bankroll.. When you hit a hot streak you end up playing more agressive and more confident that you'll hit every card you are dealt. That's when you run into problems where cards dont show for you anymore and you end up losing your money cause you believed something will come on the river.

Well the great thing about poker is that you can never predict whats falling for you. Personally, I like to mix it up because I enjoy various styles of playing and to be honest, I've had success everywhere.

I prefer to be a pretty loose player though, because if you are conervative and only play pretty good hands, you won't be able to milk a pot. Its easier to do that if you try to play every hand.

Also, when you play every hand, your chance of making something off the flop is greater than having a good hand totally miss the few flops you see.

Thats just some of my advice though.

I'd like to add on saying that when you play more loosley, you become more likely to start chasing things because you've had such success beforehand in catching cards.

I think you may very well find yourself losing alot money very quickly.

Just keep playing your cards aggresivly, everything that has a negative reaction has a positive reaction. So it will start falling into place, i guarentee it.
