| | | | building pots If I'm in the hand with a leading hand, you are going to pay to see another card I could care less about building a pot...I am not going to let you stick aroung for 2 pairs, tripps, str8's and flushes to hit your hand...you are going to have to pay dearly if you wan't to try to hit. You can go for building a pot, I'll take the hand down right now. I will only go for building a pot if I have the absolute nuts or very close to it.
But one of my biggest problems is when I am at the showdown and have the nuts...that's when I go weak, I try not to bet too much, because, I want you to call...I'll bet fair, like 200 or 300 on a 20 BB hand...but I think I am very wrong...I see a lot of players going all-in and a lot of players calling, because they think he is bluffing or that outright they think that their hand is better. I think that I am missing out on some big "kills" here...I feel that the same players that called my 200 and 300 bets would have called my all-ins or very strong bets.
I have to admit that I have been a big sucker at times when the opponent does it to me and the board was looking blank...I am always afraid that if it has been quite play and I hit a set my opponent will be gone if I bet big and I will only reap a small pot. What do you guys think?

| | | | When ever I have a decent led in a tourney I use to start to get off my game and get a little loose and call my hands that I wouldnt of if I was a small stack so what I do now when I got a big lead is just keep playing the way I been playing the whole time and that always seemed to work out better for me.So I would just say keep playing how u been and dont start to get loose if you been playing tight .That always helped my have my stack go up instead of down. | |

| | | | usally when i have nuts at river instead of all in i bet about half my stack a lot of ppl think im bluffing just keeping some if someone calls or raises then if they reraise i put it all in that should help get you a little extra | |

| | | | what i usually do wioth a smal pot and nut hand is bet about half the oppenent stack. If that requires me to go all in fine, however if this is a very aggressive player you are up against then bet smal he will most likely bet over the top then you bet half his stack on top. if its a weak player then half the satck will make it look like your trying to make him fold.

| | | | My concern homeville is the showdown...I have one shot at him...if I try to suck him out with a check, he checks and that's it....if I bet small he calls and that's it.....do I go 200 or all-in? If I bet all-in, yes I lose some would be callers, but when I get a taker...does it make up for all the lost smaller callers, is what there is to consider.
The players that I have been playing lately are all-in players on that situation...in other words, if you want to see my cards, I want your bank.

| | | | Once again there is no exact answere to this question. A lot will depend on how long you have been at the table. Do you know your opponents betting patterns? If you do, nows the time to take advantage of that and cash in big. If you havn't been at the table long, or worse, not paying attention, then go with betting half of your opponents stack and try and draw them in. | |

| | | | you should try and maximise every pot you think your gonna win
dont try and maximise just when youve got the nuts, try and maximise every hand you think your in the lead | |

| | | | you don't belong in the hand with 29s unless you were BB and got in for free...and A4s all-in is idiotic. | |

| | | | Excuse me homeville, but I don't believe that there is a book out there or a pro that would ever recommend playing 29s unless, as I said unless you are in for free...going all-in with the nut flush, yes (although it can be beat), you were refering to pre-flop I thought not with the nut flush! | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
