How to use pot odds. If you are dealt Kc Jc. Flop comes Ac 3c 6s. You have 9 outs to a flush. 6 outs to middle pair. You are 4.1-to-1 to make your flush. If the pot is offering more than 4.1-to-1 than you should correctly play. How to determing if the you are getting correct pot odds. On the flop say you are playing 1/2 limit. 5 people are in the pot and the pot is $12 and it is $2 to you. You are getting 6-to-1 pot odds. 12 divided by 2 gets the 6 to 1. So you should correctly call.
Same hand lets say the pot is only $6 and its $2 to you. Giving you 3-to-1 you should fold. See the 6 divided by 2. 6/2=3.
This does not take into effect implied odds. But, for now if your a beginer this should help you make correct decisions when faced with draws.
Very good post Oneday, yep most players now only play cards they dont figure in pot odds. Which is very prevalent when you play you see players calling pot sized bets with a str8 or flush draw which puts them in a deep hole in the long run
