Chili, I actually happen to consider myself (in any REAL game anyway, not a donk-filled one) loose-aggressive. That said, when I'm playing loose, I'm not playing these suited 1-gappers because I think they will hit, I play them as I believe I can outplay and out-read my opponents. This generally means raising with mediocre-at-best hands (such as 75s) from middle-late position, and determining what to do on the flop (as it appears you are doing).
THAT SAID...when blinds are low (so, 10/20 and 15/30 in a 1500 starting chip tournament), you can't just narrow the field down to just 1 player with a preflop raise, as with low blinds you can also see hands such as QJs to a smallish raise. This ends up (in my experience) in 3 or sometimes even 4 players on the flop, and to think no one hit a solid hand would just be ridiculous. Your example of 75s vs AK would never happen at low levels, as there's a good chance I'd be up against at least 1 pp, and possibly a higher flush draw as well. I am now drawing to a 3 outer, or runner runner 2 pair.
The best time to be aggressive with suited 1-gappers is when blinds are high, and a preflop raise will most likely eliminate all but one player. Then, when the flop is Qxx and you have a draw (or not) with position, you can bet into your opponent who has missed with AK.
