Default Patience

It is hard to be patient in a big buy in you .You want to push and get a early lead. This will take you out you have to be calm and wait .It is hard for mr to practice but you must remember. You can not win with 1 hand but you can loose.

I have tried to learn this same thing. Be patient and let everyone else take the big hits. Wait until the time and your hand is right and try and take as many pots as you can. Just don't jump in and be the first knucklehead to go all-in on the first hand with pocket 4's

yeah patience is the key for me. When playing online I usually roam around on the Internet anyways. When I play live I just shuffle chips all day and wait for the hands.

Patience must play a big part in your game in order to succeed. Well that and a little skill. Patience I feel is dependant on the level you are playing in. For example it is best to have more patience than to be agressive in say a freeroll or even a $1 buy in. Now if you are playing the higher levels and no one knows your agressive style then you may be able to buy a few pots. Just don't do like I have done so many times, and that is get too agressive.

Default a virtue

I think patience is an edge. Not just waiting for hands, but not forcing things, perception of time, and it also leads to good post flop decisions. My patience will allow me to fold a strong hand like top pair, a weaker willed soul, (lol) might not want to be short anymore. I sometimes get in that "get big, or get out" mood, but i've curbed it to only freerolls. I'll grind the short stack if the buy-in is a dime. gl 2 u all

Nice word patience. But in poker it means something else than what the dictionary says. You got put up with donkey calls and draws.

It is more of a game plan is what the word (patience) has to be used as.

In the long run if you do the right things like not going all in when you get 1 high card with a low kicker (A 2), because someone else is doing it with a better kicker. Easy to say but hard to do is what the meaning should be written as in the dictionary.

Yes you do need it in poker. Also in life. Over all it is more than a weapon because it shapes your attitude.

When youre in a 6 hour tourney, patience comes in handy. When you look around and see other stacks bigger than yours the easiest thing to do is panic and get over aggressive in a spot you normally wouldnt.
