First Limit Hold'em tournament

Tomorrow I'm going to play in a limit freeroll over at pokerstars. I've played a lot of no limit hold'em over there and been fairly succesful, but I haven't really played much limit hold'em. What adjustments should I make in order to be succesful? Which starting hands should I be looking to play? How should I bet the flop, turn, river etc.? Here's a link I found from pokerstars where Moneymaker gives some advice for first time limit players, but it seems like the advice here is extremely tight.

i think you have to play tight to start out. blinds are low and alot of people chase hands early. look for pairs and raise, once your above average losen up a bit...

People in limit games will loosin up one side of thier game and tightin the other.

They tend to loosin up the hands they play, since the raises are capped, they dont have to worry about going all in. Expect a lot more raising, and watchout for two people who are raising, because you will be cought in the middle (one will raise you call the other guy raises, the first guy re-raises, you call the next guy caps it) you will be stuck paying the cap with a mediocre hand. Its harder to read people since you cant guage their bets, the bets are a predetermined amount.

After the flop comes, since you can only bluff to an extent, it isnt very powerful at all. Less people bluff. More people chase hands. Expecially one on one.

You need to tightin up the hands you play since people arent being bluffed out or pushed out of the hand. More people in the hand = less chance of you winning. You will want a full house straight or flush instead of your regular pair two pair, or even trips since more people are going to be making their hand. I like to play more suited cards and connectors and less high face cards.

In every limit freeroll Ive been in youll find a raise raise raise person..be it stud, holdem or omaha.They all have a reason for doing it, mostly theyll say its stupid or boring and wish they didnt join.Pick these guys out early ,theyll ruin your bank or double it quickly.Just be cautious early on and pickem off 1 by 1 youll be fine.Once the blinds increase the bad players are weeded out for the most part and you can play the game the way it was meant to be played. good luck

Thanks a lot for the replies guys. I played a limit sit and go tonight just for some practice, and things went pretty well. I won the tournament (only 9 people and play money, but a wins a win). I played similar to how i would play in no limit hold'em, possibly a little bit tighter. Also in no limit hold'em I bluff reasonablly frequently, if there's only a few people left in the hand, and I suspect they have nothing. I figure this is pretty much impossible in limit, because a)the amount you raise is fixed, so you can't scare people out of pots. b) since there are more people playing their hands, a succesful bluff is less likely.

If anyone else has any advice they'd want to give to me please go ahead.

I typically don't like playing limit online because people play like robots.. what I mean is they won't care about losing .04 cents to see another card, whereas in no limit you can bet a large amount and get the person out of the pot. There's almost no point in betting with a small pair bcause someone is likely to call with an overcard and pair it. It frustrates me.

A normal limit game is completely different from a limit freeroll. Follow xtra's advice. Some people just raise everytime, so take their money if they want to do this. One way is by re-raising to get other players out of the pot, allowing you to be heads-up with the maniac. The maniac will often have nothing (queen high) and you will be able to take alot of his chips with an average hand.
