Default Reading People

Okay, so I'm realizing that I have a great feel for situations, which I may have in the past mistaken for being able to put you on a hand (although I have many times called peoples hands out to them).

Here's an example of what I mean. Suppose I've got A high (maybe AQ). Flop is 787, turn is 8, river is 5. I know you don't have any part of this and make a move to win the pot. I don't know what your cards are, but I DO know what they AREN'T.

I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. I can get a fan-freakin-tastic read on the situation and know weather or not I'm beat, but sometimes I can't even begin to think of what your two cards are.

I know to watch the action and betting patterns meticulously, but it seems that sometimes I am missing something and I can't put my finger on it.

you could call your cunundrum "gushansenism". The reason he is so good is because he knos any two cards can win in NL Texas Holdem. The only way you can be a sucessful moneymaking hold em player is if you have that mind set. Otherwise, if all you play are your AA, AK, AQ, and hi pairs, others will read you like a book. It's mixing up your play and being unpredictable with the hands you choose to play that will make you the most money in the long run. The key is simply knowing when to pull the trigger, and it sounds like you may already have that down pat.
