Default Book on SNG play

Here's a book I just finished on SNG play. For the naysayers please don't bother with it as it deals with things like tracking software, ICM and such.

However I really think it could help anyone here who likes SNGs.

Sit 'n Go Poker Strategy, SNG Book, and Coaching by Collin Moshman | Home

He has a couple of free articles on the site as well.

If a leader wants to put the book into the book thread I will give a review. Will also be glad to review a few other books if they can be listed there.

does it have a good guide to ICM? what tracking software does it talk about? poker tracker and pokerace HUD? Is it just single table SNGs or multi table ones as well?

THF Player of the Year
I have been waiting for a book like this for years. A book only about 1-table SnG's. Once it hits the Pokerstars store I will order it immediately.

Good tip rocket.

This by all means should not be your first book.

I would suggest something like Internet Texas Holdem as a good starter book (but by no means just a starting book as this is a great book for any player).

Does the information discussed in the book apply only to high stakes games, where opponents actually think and know some poker theory, or would someone like me be able to make use of it at my low level $3-5 SnGs?

I'm pretty sure ICM is still useful no matter the buyin. You just have to be able to adjust opponent calling ranges. I'm pretty sure calling ranges are a lot looser at the lower levels. Like they will call you with QT or K8 or 33 so you have to adjust your push/fold ranges.

I think there is plenty in the book for all levels.

The appendixes alone are worthwhile

A. What is the probability of

B. Pushing tables

C. Drawing odds chart

D. Pre-flop hand probabilities

E. Your hand versus a random hand

F. Sample hands as short stack on bubble

I bought it yesterday. I'm reading together with Harrington On Holdem & they are very similar. Moshman himself posted today on a thread about this book on another site. VERY good book. I didn't mind paying the $27 for it as I know it's going to pay off very soon. It's strictly about the SNG's which is all that I'm playing at this time. I think Cardoza has a book on SNG's coming out later this year.

I've also just started reading it, I've read his section on Low-level and mid-level blinds. While I feel the low level blinds information is very useful, I feel his mid-level game DEFINITELY assumes some intelligence on the part of your opponent (i.e., doesn't apply to $3-5 SnGs).

Will give my full impression on the book when I'm done reading it
