Minnejohnny | you said that you should play more hands in 3-6 because it is cheaper. this is absolutely terrible advice; youre wasting bets, and there is nothing more to it. | |

| | | | I guess I do play more hands in 3-6 than I do in 8-16, but I believe its because I see so many weak hands coming in, in 3-6 vs. 8-16... this is not always true but it does seem to be the case in my particular brick and mortar card club. When I see that people are not excersizing hand selection, I start valuing intermediate hands like A-10 or k-x suited (even J-6 suited) and it has worked well. In the higher limits at my card club those hands tend to decrease in value or at least the return I get on them because people hold out for good hands that often have these beat. I have to admit this may not be correct play but I can't think of a single 3-6 table that I wouldn't play A-10 in the situation you described. I also think in no-limit or pot-limit you have to play differently than 3-6. If there is a homogenous style of play that covers all these limits, please start a thread as I would like to discuss.

| | | | raise pre flop ? i would raise 3x the pot with ace ten suited in dealpostion only (on button). other than that i would just call pre flop. is this correct? | |

| | | | Id just call, It's not that amazing of a hand, any pocket pair usually beats it, along with any paired face card, but the ace is good too, the flush and stright have small chances, and yea, I'm not gonna say anything about a royal. | |

| | | | A10s is a definite play in late position, usually a raise, depends on the # of limpers.... might even want to see a flop to see if the str8 draw, the flush draw, or top/top presents itself | |

| | | | when you guys actually play poker, you guys actually calucalte the odds? thats weird. i just play not once ever did i think about the odds... not numbers wise at least. | |

| | | | the only odds i think about are how many outs do i have to catch a hand, not preflop .... only preflop all-ins... AA to lower pp, 88-12 | |

| | | | Its kind of a superstitious thing, it depends on how you feel about the hand, Doyle Brunson never plays AQ but he always plays 10-2 its an enigma, my hand like that is 8-10 whenever I play it, nothing happens, and when I dont I would have caught a monster | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
