Question Low pockets...what to do?

alright what do you do with low pockets in NL holdem. I know people who wont play then but i know other people who cant seem to lay them down . Hitting trips is pretty much your only out unless you decide to pull a sly bluff on someone. The odds of hitting trips is also unlikely so why take the chance becasue someone who calls your preflop raise IS going to have overcards on you so why waste your money??any suggestions on how you play low pockets would be nice.dave

the odds of you hit trips or better with a pocket pair is about 7.5:1 so the odds arent that bad. I like to see flops as cheap as possible and I usually will call up to about 1/15th of my stack in a mult-way pot. Sometimes I will play them like painted pairs if I am heads up against a weak opponent

with low pocket pairs.......there great to see a flop with.......im a gambling man.......i like coin flips.........AK vs. 22 is a classic.......if u have a 2's in the hole.....flop comes out 3 6 8........if u called a raise.......you prolly have a winner......you gotta imagine they came in with AK or 10 J or something of that sorts......its a good time to raise

a very profitable move could be to raise with say pp of 4's and an AQ or AK calls you, especially if the A,K,or Q, hit along with your 4. you would most likely drain their roll right there with the proper betting strategy, so raising a bit is a tricky maneuver

Unless the price is too big ill call my low pockets,,,thyre an annoying read for me so I assume its is the same for others who flop 2 pair when I catch my third 2.

im not a big fan of playin really low pockets with big money, if the price doesnt go too far up pre-flop then i will see if i can hit the trips, if i dont hit the trips then depending on what comes up and how the others have been playin i may make a bet, but its usually go big or go home. otherwise i lay them down and wait for something better

I love low pockets. Make sure you pre-raise flop. If you flop your set or better... check. Trap your opponent. If not, be aggressive! Most likely if its against one other player and doesn't have anything, he'll likely fold. If you have low Pockets for an all-in, %50 of the time, I'll call if I think they have two overcards.

I think BlackstoneV1 said it perfectly. You have to play poker aggressive especially when you have sometype of hand. I think if you play you pocket pair correctly you will win very often. Sometimes we forget the other players don't know what you have. Low pockets, make the flop, and then play your opponent.

I like playing small pp in limit games but NL games i rarely play them. It can be to costly to call someones bet in a NL game with 33 or 66.
