Question HOW TO PLAY AGAINST A MANIAC !!!!!

one of my biggest problems in no-limit hold-em is playing against a player that is always raising and reraising. how do you put him on a hand? do you just sit and wait him out and hope he gets moved or do you play aggressive to try and put a stop to it?????

I find that if you fold all the time that's fine.
Just wait untill you have a really good starting hand.
If he raises call, he'll then probably raise you again then reraise him back alot and he'll probably fold!

Going all in when you think you might have an advantage should shut him up quick!

But if your playing limited hold'em then sometimes you have to take more chances to see the fourth or fifth card. In the long run it could pay off!

i usually play tight and fold but like you said when i get a great starting hand usaully a pocket pair i go after him and get burnt i think it is time not to get into any kind of confrontation with maniacs with big stacks and pray for the best!!!!!!!

I'll probably wait until I get a great hand, and he has been raising avery single hand, I think it's better not to reraise him a lot like but just to call until the river, he'll probably keep raising until then, and after he bets on the river only then I would bet the hell out of him... if he fold, then you will get all the money he has put in, if he calls (very probably if he has gone crazy with the raises) then you'll knock him out or at least hurt his pocket very bad.

I think you have to sit tight and wait until you have a killer hand. I know it can be frustrating but let's face it, we shouldn't be limping in on margianl hands anyways. My favourite example was as you describe - the player to my left was raising or going all in with almost every hand. Then it finally happened - I got AA - and I limped in calling the big blind. Sure enough, he goes all-in, I do as well and I cleaned his clock. The fact that he had KK made it all the more enjoyable. He changed his play considerably after that but was out less than 10 hands later. Enjoyed that one.

I have found that sitting back and waiting can work but as you know they are loose. So they call and play just about anything. what i have found works is that if you get a pair just call them down. it works for me.
