If reraising him don't put him in his place, jsut call untill you know you have him beat then take him out, if he has anything he'll call your all in

I love players like this because they can instigate action tables. My strategy here requires some loose play. I'll try to get into as many pots with this player as possible, assuming that his raises aren't all-in. If you can convince him that your post flop check is weak you are golden. Be sure to give him good evidence that his read is correct and you'll eventually GET PAID.

They cannot get a winning hand every time, be patient, wait for a good hand, and take em out. Most of this type of player will call your all in when you got the nuts.
I agree 100%. Wait them out, they cannot beat everyone at the table every hand. They usually lose 1 big pot and settle down, or lose it all befor too long. I usually let the other players deal with it, unless I catch As or Ks.

I usually have a good read on maniacs.

I drive them batty by just calling them down. They're betting and dying to get in a reraise. I'll even call on the end when I KNOW I have them just because it'll get me that much more from them later on in the session.

Eventually, I will raise the maniac, but then I'll have the nuts and that moron will probably reraise.

Nope, but you'll problably get banned! ;-D

I've found that the best thing to do is push back, slightly. As long you as can keep them from thinking you're bluffing, you're golden. Lots of time, constant pushing is their way of covering for lack of skill in playing defensively. I usually wait until there's a hand where they just checked instead of raising off of the flop, then I raise enough that it will bother them if they lose, but enough to keep them from thinking i'm bluffing. They fold 99% of the time.

Default call

one of the easiest ways to stop a maniac is to just call a lot. try if you can to sit on his left so you can see what he is going to do before you act. If he is playing extremely loose you should call him down with most mid pairs
