| | | | Oh stop it Mars...he's only been away for a week and you're already looking for a new Sonny lol
Nope Mahdrek, I leave the work to others whenever possible. I sit at the back of the class making farting noises and flicking ink pellets at Mars' ears.
A pic for Mars:

| | | | i dont like doing all ins with 44
the fact that you are slightly ahead of akos doesnt rectify that for me.
Part of the problem of 44 is that if you get called by 55, 66 etc you are totally dominated and in a freeroll you could seriously risk being called by at least one hand with overcards. Also in freerolls you could get 2 callers and 44 does not do well with three in a pot.
KQ is much better as you will face the odd call with kj etc and you are in solid territiory against everything but aa, ak, aq, kk, qq and are near evens against a10 (not quite) . I would be more conserned about timing if 44 all in is a serious consideration. If you time it right you could either let a big stack isolate opposition (so its you and him with chips added in the pot) or do the play at a time where there is the greatest chance of players folding to you.

| | | | hehe thanks Rw, That quick sketch took me quite a bit longer than I expected - time wasnt wasted though and in the process, I devised my own passable fake-chalk-on-blackboard photoshop filter lol
Still, I must admit it's all true, I'm no Maths expert
Non comment from Mars yet so I'll assume I was right - he does have big ears and a small willy
Catch you all later I hope. Trying to re-install a pc and getting Windows Updates between posts.
We all playing the razz game tonight?

| | | | I disagree with what most people would pick here. For me I would rather go all in with hands like 78s, 89s than KQ, KJ as those hands are often dominated if you push them. Also pushing with small-medium suited connectors is better from a mathamatical viewpoint. Example; If you are dominated with KQo by AQo you will win 24.91%. However if you make the same move with 78s and face AQo you will win 40.68% of the time and against AQs 38.06% still HIGHER than KQo.

| | | | You have to push ANY pair... ANY suited paint... ANY A10+...
Yes, some of the time, you will be called with a higher pocket pair, and yes sometimes your KsQs will be beat by Ax on high cards, but remember... you're not playing just to stay alive. When your M is 5 or less, you have to be willing to take risks to build your stack again if you want to win the tournament.
I don't think any registers for a tournament and looks at 2nd place. So, when our M is 5 and we start pushing a lot of hands, we still have enough chips to push someone off of say, 88/AJ. When they do fold, you are adding blinds and antes to your stack, which is crucial.
Yes, you will eventually get called down, but when you do... your KcJc is not that big of a dog to AQo or 77. If you win that one hand, then you are right back up with an average stack and in the hunt for a big score.

| | | | thank you
what is M ?
my guess is that M is the factor of BB compared to own stack, but not sure if it is sum of blinds

| | | | M is your stack / blinds (plus antes if your that far)
For example you have T3000 chips at 200/400. 3000 / 600 = M of 5

| | | | Just my opinion, but short stacked in a mtt is much more about position than the cards. Your better off pushing from the button or cutoff with 58o then with A10 utg. I try not to go below 7 or 8 bb. push in postion with that many bb and you still have fold equity, and even if you get called your probably not more than a 2 to 1 dog. Playing position on the shortstack will be better off in the long run then waiting for a good hand only to see your down to 4 bb.
Just my opinion, feel free to disagree
