| | | | Highs and Lows Has anyone noticed that when your hot and catching your cards you are unstoppable a lot of the time, but when you cant catch anything but a cold (like what I did) you cant get out of it? I just wanted to see what kind of runs people have gone on including the losing end. The stories could get pretty good I think... | |

| | | | not me yeah i have runs of really hot cards and really cold cards too -- i however am not so disciplined and usually end up losing a lot of money when i hit my cold streaks cause i press too much and feel like i have to make my money back right away -- my advice to myself and to everyone else is that you really need to learn to step away from a table or a game when you are down or after you feel your run is over, take a breather, get a beer, go to the bathroom, whatever, just take some time to get it back | |

| | | | That happens to me everytime i play. I get alot of nice hands in a row then i dont get one for like 20 mins. But if your good as i am you gotta win pots without the best hand when that happens. | |

| | | | thats always the problem with me...get on a really good rush then taper off and lose most of my br...consistency is the key to good poker...now, how do i process this at the tables? | |

| | | | What do you mean process it? Once you start losing dont play as many of the hands that you normally would...wait till you see the perfect chance to make a play or wait till you get really good hands. You could always pull the new deck move, which I still have yet to do cause I think its a dick move but whatever superstition ya got could work... you never know. | |

| | | | i am a tight/aggressive player. so i dont see a whole lot of hands to begin with...i usaully take some time off when the cards go cold..some ppl have told me thats wrong, that i should keep playing ,,what do you guys do when this happens? | |

| | | | When you say play tight/aggressive ,maybe you could switch it up and play a little less tight and maybe a little less aggressive...do you play at casinos or online cause that could make a difference in what you play depending on the people at the table and the way they play. | |

| | | | I definately start to press a little to much when I hit a cold streak and discipline is something that I definately need to learn. Sometimes I just get impatient, especially seeing that k8 i just folded turning out an 8 8 k on the flop and someone winning a huge pot with a pair of 7s on the river... I think I need to learn from what some people have said in here and take a little while to regroup and make sure I don't start playing bad cards and getting into a funk. | |

| | | | If you wanna know about runs, I'm having the bad end of it right now. I turned $50 to $153 in 2 days, winning several S&Gs and up a bit on cash game. Then yesterday lost $80 in less than 20 mins in cash games because twice my opponent FLOPPED the boat on me while I have 2 pairs and trips. Then of course I was steaming, then lost another $40, though at least it took 2 hours. Down to $33 as of yesterday.
Then today, same shit. Decided to just stick to S&Gs because it is my online strength. I would always lead in the races and people just starting catching runner-runner and nice river. Was at one point down to my last $5.50, enough for one S&G. Then twice in a row finished third while the chip leader going into the money because of all the same bullshit.
First one, got QJ, flopped top pair, only for someone else to have KJ. Second one, the same QJ, race with JT, then he got T on the river. Both times made me the short stack, and it went downhill from then on.
There's your stories JackOffKing .... LOL ... you should change your nickname!!!
