Its not always about how there face reacts but also there body language...make sure to look at all your opponents reactions when they are looking at their cards before you look at yours. Some things I look for are their hands...if they are shaking a lot they usually have a hand, otherwise if they push their chips in fast or aggressive they are more than likely bluffing. Try to get Howard Lederer's DVD or Mike Caros poker tells. These helped me out a lot. Hope this helps

I do this, as the button goes around the table look at the player first to acts body expressions and see what he does, remember what he does if he bets or checks, and commit it to memory it WILL come in handy later

I personally believe that a person's tell isnt about anything other then a random thought...I think the best poker players in the world are also very good sales people...Sales people tend to be able to read people very good...its not a skill I think can be taught..either you have it or you dont.

I agree with jackking. Most people go for the big picture. (the facial expression is the biggest) however mos avg players know this and that is usually what they work the hardest not to show a tell. I say look small, watch all the actions, asnd focus on some that may appear as tellls, then try to interpret them. (look how a person fingers their chips on a perticular hand, etc) I found that to be the easiest strategy. Me, I just grin ear to ear when I get a good hand.

Remember, just b/c someone is giving you information doesn't mean you have a read. You then have to analyze what you see. - logan

i agree that Howards DVD will help alot. But only against the average player. You will not see many of the tells he talks about against an experienced player. You need to watch how the people play their hands. When they get got bluffing try and remember every move they made that hand. Same when they have a really strong hand.

Yep, against average players watch face, hands, breathing. Body position is also a good one. leaning forward, appearing strong usually means a weak hand. Leaning back looking non-agressive usually means a strong hand. But then of course there are lots of people out there who know these things and will do the opposite to draw you in. Guess I'm no help at all.

Also look at there betting pattern, if they arent really experienced they will raise with a big hand and be scared to call a raise with a marginal hand. Or at least thats what ive picked up on a little bit. Its all about patience...if you stay patient and pay close attention youll pick up on the little things
