Default Heads-Up Strategy

No use in working hard to the final table and ending up as the final 2 players left and then to lose to that one last obstacle, right?

So what is/are your strategy/ies for heads-up play? Hands selection? Level of aggression? Milking? Sandbagging? Bluffing? Mind game? Deception?

id like to think its one of the stronger aspects of my game
you will certainly not win all the time - you have to make sure your agressive when you play but be smart enough to fold when they go all in with a made hand

I play heads up pretty agressively and if I am in the small blind always raise. I think when it comes down to heads up you need to know your oppenent and play them more than the cards and know what you can or can't get away with to beat that person.

You can't be afraid to occasionally fold on the small blind though. Sometimes when you raise you can be reraised and with rags, there is only trouble down that road.

I find that, when I'm playing with my friends, I'm always finishing at the top. But my shorthanded game is a little weak...any suggestions??

Just to clarify how I play shorthanded. I usually am too assuming that my opponents have bad hands.

Heads-up play is all about the game of your oppenent. I play home games w/ about 8 guys and i have a different strategy for all of them heads-up... obviously the tight players, i'll raise and bet a ton, the moderate ones, i'll mix it up, actually had a guy call my quad 2's with a jack high... loved it .... then the crazy players... wait for the hand, and trap the hell outta em.
