Default WHEN DO I MOVE UP A LEVEL?

I have been playing poker for awhile now and when i first started I promised myself I would not get into real money games until honestly think i can play. So what I did for the most part was play freerolls and on my Texas Poker Academy game constantly. Now Ive started playing real money games mostly SNG'S i have only deposited 50 into party poker and so far up to 200 in less ten 10 days. Which i only had like 5 sit ins. Now ive been playing in the .1/.25 blind level. Eventhough i know it wouldnt hurt to move up a level, which is
.25/.5, I just wanted some opinions on this.

Youve done great to get to 200 in 10 days. Well done.

Personally I think .25/.50 stakes are a bit too high for a 200 bankroll.

10/20c or 10/25c seems about right to me. You're doing well so why not stick to what your doing. If you make $500 then maybe you could play 50c more comfortably.

You want 10-15 full buy ins for whatever stakes you are playing at. For NL games, that should be whatever the maximum buy in for the table is. For limit, that should be about 30 Big Bets.

10 days of good poker should not fool u into jumping levels. U already are playing out of your BR. To play .10/.25 u need 20 buy-ins, or $500. Play it safe and stick to whats working for u. If u decide to take your game up a notch to .25/.50 be prepared to take some huge hits as far as your BR is concerned.

Canete!

Apologies.

Firstly, I was assuming that you were playing limit poker as oppose to No-Limit.

The figure I was thinking of to estimate bankroll capabilities at LIMIT poker was 300 times the big blind. 300 was the figure I was thinking of when I wrote the post. I wrote the post quickly and for some reason I made a mistake. I didnt realise I'd done that. oops.

If you're, for instance, playing LIMIT poker at 10/20c , I think a healthy bankroll would be around $60 (0.2 x 300)

and a bankroll of say $150 (0.5 x 300) would stand a bad run at 25/50c LIMIT tables.

You didnt say whether you were playing no-limit or limit. I just assumed you meant limit.

For No-limit play I learned that 20-30 (Maximum) buyins was a safe bankroll management and I try to stick to that.
So for 25c NL, as D says, youre looking to have a bankroll of at least $500.

That is working on a maximum buyin of 100 big blinds.
.25c x100 = a maximum buyin of $25
$25 x 20= $500

just wondering what is the rationale from switching from sngs (where you have been winning even if you have been playing 6$ buy ins which is quite high for a 50$ role but they dont do micro tourneys like some of the other sites) to ring games when you are on a role in the sngs

It seems a bit like entering a tennis tournament after some success at squash.

Still there is nothing wrong with it but if you are thinking in terms of $$ then the sngs might be worth focussing on whilst the running is good.
