Default Logout stupidity

If do the sloppy thing and just close my browser then my cookies work. If I do the right thing and Logout, the stupid process, as reported by Cookie Monster, deletes my user id and password from the appropriate cookie and then puts up a dialog which lies about having deleted the cookies, which it doesn't.

Please don't do any deletions on Logout, it is totally pointless and irritating having to log on manually because of it, especially as being sloppy gives the desired effect. In otherwords these deletions achieve nothing. Please fix.

I don't quite get what you are saying. If you log out it will remove the cookie, right?

Have you checked your firewall? Maybe changing the settings will do the trick?

No, it does not delete the cookie, what is the point of deleting it for heavens sake? It contains essential information for the next login! That is why it is stupid to want to delete it. Of the two cookies it is the one <my_username>@www.texasholdemforums[1].txt All that happens is that the fields bbuserid and bbpassword get deleted, which is equally stupid as they are the very fields needed for the next login.

The dialog says cookies deleted, plural, but the other cookie is never touched thank goodness, and if that is due to firewall settings then that's fine by me because deletion is not justified. If I wanted to permanently leave and never come back then a facility to clean up would be good, but I was just logging out till next session, that is what logout means to any sane human being.

I understand your frustration RacingDog, but from my end there is nothing I can do. I have perused all tools available to me and can't find a cure. Perhaps Jimmy the site owner can find the glitch. Your log on name should still be saved in a drop down box, so only the input of the first letter will pull that up. The password has to be manually entered. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok, understood. Still, at least my last post should have clarified the technical details for him, touch wood.
