Disappointment

I joined this forum a while back, I actually joined it with a few other new members that I know. I know I am new here and this will probably not mean much, but I am severely disappointed.

This is a very hostile forum. I belong to three other forums and you get the occasional argument going but it is usually respectful. You guys are just plain mean. I have been reading threads wanting to respond but it usually turns into an insult throwing contest, WITH THE MODERATORS THROWING THE INSULTS!!

I am afraid to post anything for fear that fink22 or KO6mars with ban me or insult me. Are moderators of a forum supposed to cause fights and throw insults at members?

Other forums are saying that if you want to be belittled and insulted join texas holdem forums.

I came here to talk with FRIENDS and discuss poker related topics or anything else to just relax, it is quite the opposite here, it is more stressful than relaxing.

I am not trying to stir things up, but come on, where are you guys going?

I believe there is just a lot of unleashed testosterone here. Oh boy, will I hear it now..

We really do have fun here..you just have to look past a couple of those argumentative threads.

Theres always assholes in the game of poker bud. You've been a part of this forum long enough to know I too have been hit with a few mudballs. But things just don't escalate unless you throw one back. Sure I can understand if you are being bombarded then it would make you want to leave but theres always people here to help you out. Above all, its a forum. Words and words but thats all they are. Take what you can get out of em and leave the rest, they won't follow you outside your screen.

I've moved this thread to the correct room - see, leader's do some good stuff around here

I've been accused of both slinging mud and not letting enough mud be slung - perhaps that means I'm a hypocrite; I see it as a number of different viewpoints on a forum

Anyways, here's my point of view on the posts I make that are apparently out of line, offensive, etc.:

The comments I have made that are considered hostile have (for the most part) been directed towards members who have been playing the game for a long time now. Whatever comments I make (I'm not sure which ones exactly) are made because they generally don't accept the fact that there is no one perfect way to play poker. It's nice to debate different strategies, but there's always one or two people who believe there way is the only way to play - it's at this point, I believe, that my comments become "hostile" - not necessarily because I disagree with their strategy, but because they are not willing to accept the inherent flaws in their strategy (or strengths in a counter-strategy).

Assuming this is the case, I find it quite sad that a former leader would do something like this - I would hope he would at least use his regular screen name...

Cruncher, if you aren't homeville, please know that we do have our reasons for thinking it is him (this isn't just some witch hunt being done by accused leaders), and you just happen to be unlucky enough to share a couple qualities with homeville.
