Is "Hand Histories" a Brag Post/Bad Beat Section?

Heya

I'm new so please don't slam me here.

I was just wandering if you guys could make sub-categories for the "Hand Histories" section. Reading brag posts and bad beats is cool and everything but they're kind of pointless when it comes to actually learning anything new about the game, (well, except that shit happens and whether you're on the receiving end or not). Don't get me wrong, I like posting my bad beats for lots of reasons, (mainly just to get it off my chest and also cause most of the people I know don't know what I mean when I say my Pocket Kings got cracked by Pocket Deuces when a backdoor flush hit the board).

You could make a bad beat section where players can rant about how amazingly bad all the donkies are and a Brag section where players can tell everyone how cool they are for winning that $3 re-buy tourney.

The actuall hand histories forum can be reserved for strategic hand histories where forum members don't post results and ask everyone else what play they would've made.

Anyways, just an idea, what do you guys think?

Actually that is what that forum is for basically. From time to time there will be posts about "what would you do" type of hand history. It looks much neater when there are not a mega amount of sub-forums. There is a forum that is already designated for the wins so to speak. Whereas the members could also post the winning hand histories there if they choose to. A lot of the histories posted in the forum that you speak of are actually quite helpful to most. It lets them know what not to do. I have posted many of mine there and believe me no one will ever do as I do . All that aside though, it is a good idea to have a good HH section and a bad HH section. I just think most are used to having it all in one spot. But then again what do I know.

Yeah I understand what you're saying GetTheShades. It can get a bit boring reading lots of bad beat threads, particularly if they aren't really bad beats.
I'm sure we've have had specific bad beat threads before, they get forgotten and probably don't get many views since we already know what's waiting for us when soemone posts there.

I think it's similar with the 'Let's see some Bluffing Thread' some very interesting hands get posted - but sometimes maybe we are reluctant to look in there since
the title of the room tells half of the story.

I don't know whether members will post there, or whether that thread will get many views. Personally I quite enjoy looking at hand histories, the ones that are simply bragging posts or straight forward- he hit his outs! etc get a quick scan and I move on and look for something more interesting to me.

I think we'll still get so called bad beats and brags mixed in with the more involved posts so it's just a case of picking the ones you like

lol, it is??? What a funny section.

Although I do get that it's kind of a bad idea to make a seperate bad beat/brags section cause not many members would actually look in there, I still think the funny/pointless threads shouldn't get all mixed up with the significant/important threads. If no one's gonna look in the bad beats and brag threads, how about I post the officiall HH strategy thread. (With the forum god's permission of course).

I can set out a few guidlines on how to post a proper strategic HH question and all the forum members can post their serouis HH questions in there. For the guy's that just want to have a laugh, they can post their brags and bad beats in the actuall hand HH forum.

What do you guys think?

(And yes this is obvously a ploy for me to create a super thread.lol)

I also enjoy looking at HH and have always enjoyed the selection to choose from. There is the Bad Beats You Gave thread...just got to make sure its a Bad Beat before you post it in there <wink> In all fairness I think if you feel its a bad beat then post it there.

I post alot of different types of HH's. I like to throw a curve ball into my game every now and then. Some are good some arent. Some I just get lucky with a bad hand ..either way..I know it all qualifies to be posted in Hand Histories.
