Exclamation Intro Lounge.....??
Why do we not get either credits or post count for replying in the intro lounge...I ask as I understand why we don't in the lounge....it's off topic and all that.......however.....

This is not only the first place new members more often than not post (so see there post count and credit score increase straight away) but also a place where THF members welcome the new members....so surely both accounts are worthy of both credits and posts...(we want newbies posting an intro and we want members to reply).

I can only say this Sonny...its a given. I dont think we need to recieve anything to greet our new fellow THF members and make them feel at home here. Some things are just a given

I kind of agree with you Sonny. But only on the part about the receiving credits. Now I don't think we should get them, the new members should. It is kind of a little gift for introducing yourself. Say maybe a 200 credit bonus for a new member to tell us who they are and so on. As for the posts counting for us I agree with Cali on this, that we don't need to be rewarded for welcoming new members. But the intro credit I feel is something that may be worth doing, even though the credits are worth nothing atm but eventually may be. Maybe the credits in a way could replace the approval process. Once a certain number has been reached a member would achieve new privileges or something along those lines.

We made the decision not to count posts from these rooms a long time ago and I still think that its the right decision. Do you think that someone who has got to 100 posts by posting jokes in the lounge should be eligible for approval? Personally, I don't think so.

From my own point of view, I don't put too much emphasis on post count anyways, it doesn't always paint a clear picture of a members status. Quality posts should always be more important than post count

I never mentioned the lounge, well only to say that I agreed that posts in the lounge which are not poker related shouldn't count....I was asking in respect of the intro lounge as this is a place a lot of newbies post and members welcome them.........however now I've had the exact same answer 3 times now I'll take it as it not being a good idea.....!!!!!

I see ya' point....In fact I could very well be this point......I'm happy fluking the odd quality post every now and then......I do it by the law of percentages If I write so damn many of them the odds are eventually I actually get lucky and write a quality one,.......!!!!

BTW....Thanks for all the responses....I think I get it now!
