As I said before, we have to remember that there is a high chance of those doing well in the individual league will do well in the team league as well. So I think we need to go with K's or Rat's suggestion  | |

| | | | I actually thought up the average idea first..and then tried it out...
As it is with the current point system, you could have finishes of 1st and last, and still end up with the most points for that day..

The problem with the average idea is the fact that the points system puts so much emphasis on first place. Let's say you have a 20 person game, one team has players finishing 1st and last, another 2nd and 3rd (this is highly unlikely, I know - this is the extreme case). If that were to happen, the team of 2nd and 3rd would only finish ahead by 1.3 points. Make that 1st and last vs. 2nd and 4th, and now you're down by .3 points. So, while it's POSSIBLE that league winner won't get the team win, it's highly likely.
The advantage to making the team aspect rely on the "weakest link" is it would encourage better play early on. No longer can players use the mentality of "hey if I go out, I got <insert individual leader> on my team, he/she can help me out" - because he/she won't. It would also encourage players to make all the games, as missing one game gets your team 0 points (or, we could make it 5 points so it's not too extreme...still, you get the picture).

2nd + 3rd is 57.44266558, 1st + 20th (last) is 54.72 points (<3 points difference) by the current system.
