Default Pay tournaments - are you interested?

Henry got back to me last night about the tournaments. The minimum tournaments they can have are $10+$1 - which is fair enough.

Now before we go on, may i stress that us having these tournaments is not replacing freerolls - so please dont barage this thread with freerolls questions, this thread has nothing to do with it. Myself, doc and many others are not freeroll players - we play for money and have not had a good tourney between us so please dont get concerned about you guys being left out - if anything the opposite is true.

Id like to arrange a $10+$1 tournament for this friday 6pm Eastern Time / 11pm GMT (UK/Europe)

could all members who are interested post here so i can get an idea of numbers - hell, even if theres only 5-10 of us it should be a good laugh.

I'd love to Fonze it sounds great. But after winning $8 at the freeroll, i came in third in two 5 + .5, tried a 10+1 and got bad beat. So i'm down to $4. I'll try to win some money back. If i do count me in.

i dont even play $10+$1 sngs and ive got a bankroll of a couple of hundred bucks, still play the $5+$1 tables - lol Have you guys not tried to establish a bankroll of some sort as yet. I thought you played regularly at the money tables cowboy?
this is something ive been meaning to address actually. The forum now has way too high a percentage of non-money players - i need to concentrate more on trying to attract more experienced money players to the site in the next few months. Its important that we get the right mix of experienced players and beginners etc. Just now i think its completely the wrong way round - ie 95% beginners and 5% experienced players. You have to remember that players such as myself, starlight, dr winston etc play at the money tables and we are still striving to improve our game as well and we need to have members on board on the same level if not higher. The more we attract complete newbies the less we have to offer to experienced players such as dr winston (to use as an example) and its vital we keep members with this kind of experience on board.
The opposite is also true. Ive been answering posts as best and and much as i can but i still see a lot of questions in threads no being answered or being answered in any great detail. I think newbies would benefit greatly with more experience on board.

Hopefully, no one out there will misinterept this post. Im trying to make the forum grow in the right direction and its imprtant we have the right balance in order to do so and in order to make sure everyone who comes here learns and improves their game.

I understand your concern Fonz, but just cause some of us dont have a online bankroll dosn't mean were newbies or inexperienced. For example, I have been playing for quite a while, but I dont play online for many very often. For one I cant afford to put money into, and for another when I do save enough I would rather head to Las Vegas and put it on a table. Live games are way more exciting for me. So just cause I dont play for money online very often, doesnt mean Im inexperienced at poker.

As to your original question. I would probaly be interested in playing a pay tourney. At least with the members we have I would be playing with mostly people who know how to play. Could be fun.

wasnt suggesting any particular member was inexperienced though im sure youll agree the majority of new members in the last few weeks have been newbies. I do agree playing online experience and playing live experience do not go hand in hand.
Ill try and get the tourney arranged tonight

Yes I do agree with you, most of the new members are newbies at poker. I just wanted to make a point is all.

Ill see if I can make it for the tourny then. Sounds like fun.

im probably the opposite - i play online to make money and i play with my mates for a laugh (though obviously i do stil try to win).
Ill stress again that i wasnt trying to imply certain members here arent experienced - there are many members much more experienced than me, that much is clear. All i was trying to stress was that in proportion to the whole memberbase we have too many newbies (so you dont have to get defensive and prove your experienced )
anyways back on topic (yeah i know i was the one that made the thread go off topic ), let me know whos all interested in playing this friday

I sure do, but I dont have an account on Poker Stars, I only made one to participate in your freerolls. I know you are used to jumping around and taking advantage of the promotions but I like to stick to one site. Just more comfortable. I guess i'll drop some money in cause you are a nice guy.

But this inexpieriance talk sounds like a duel, you know i wont turn you down in a heads up shoot out, i have the quickest six shooter here or so i think, care to prove me wrong?

(this is all banter bud i'm not getting defensive, you know me anyway )
