Default Freeroll League

I am almost sure that this has been brought up before maybe by me. I know we have FRF and all but what about a freeroll league here. There are still members here who only want to play in freerolls. This does not necessarily need to have an actual $ prize for each freeroll. How about 2 or 3 per week for 1 month and the top 2 3 or whatever percentage of entrant entered that say place in top 5 be awarded a seat into a final tournament that say has a $ prize. Also I say make it a post required game. Instead of having to have a minimum post requirement there must be a maximum requirement. This will get the new members posting and feeling better about their play and work them into the buy-in games or the prize for the final gets them a buy in to a forum league game. Tell me what you think about this new and old members.

I think we are a decent forum if you look at the amount of members and the quality of the players are very high

To attract more members and keep some freeroll members(or non-deposit members), i think we need a weekly freeroll maybe at Cakepoker.

it all sounds good, and i can try to find somehting, but its not that easy, DJ you know this. Getting sites to commit money for nothing in return is quite difficult and thats why we have low buy in tourneys with a lot of money added, because sites are much more willing to do that because people will deposit. Cake is probably our best chance because we are affiliated with them. Ill see what i can do or maybe another helper/leader will get to it before me.

What I was suggesting was a group of freerolls leading up to a final that would have a prize. The freerolls leading up to the final their prizes would be a seat in the final. I would think that this type of league would get those playing the games on a site such as Cake or even P4E to deposit I know I did because I like those sites(well not so much cake anymore too many BB's).

We tried getting just one FR at Third Bullet last week via Freeroll Forums, our sister site. Couldn't fill one table and it was cancelled, despite $100 on offer.

There is bugger all activity on FRF in anycase.

So what is going on freerollers? There's tons of you out there, and I bet many of you bitch about can't get decent freerolls anymore.

Yeah, right. Just bloody come out of the woodwork and give us and our games and our sister site the support thats needed. Otherwise what's the point? I mean where are all these players for a league coming from when they never show for a single game with a good prize? When they never show at FRF either?

Come on people, There is another $100 up for grabs at Third Bullet this week. How's about showing our wonderful organisers that they ain't just pissing in the wind and that what they are trying to for us is worthwhile. And when I say us I MEAN YOU GUMDROP. YES YOU. The one reading this. Get off your idle butt and join in.

A freeplay league where there is neither a buy in or prize pool does seem good - the fact is though, sites want to give out money, as that means there are players now ready to play on the site. If you win a play money tourney on pokerstars, great, you now have 1 million chips or whatever - but that means nothing in terms of playing real money games. Now, to make a game like this private, where none of the winners walk away "happy" (this would be by a poker sites definition, ready to play the real money games), and time is spent by a player rep to set up the game and exclude members of the site, it seems like no one wins.

An alternative that we may be able to set up:

Pokerstars regularly has those public 2000 play chip buy in tourneys. We could set one of those tourneys as something all "league" players would enter. Points would be determined by how everyone finishes in this public tourney. Now, if we could get every player to put up a small buy in at the beginning of the league (say, $5 a piece), we could then distribute funds to the winners without any help from the poker site. After telling them about what we are doing, they may be inclined to set something extra up for us. Think of it as a $5 investment that will last you a full month.

I'd be willing to organize something like this, let me know what you guys think.

And please, for the love of God, play in the ThirdBullet games I set up - their giving out $400 this month to THF!!!
