| | | | Sunday League Game @ THF I officially hereby decree that THF should set up a Sunday league game again.
I believe todays bounty game showed that we can get enough people to support a Sunday league game. (Yeah I know it was on a Satrurday but you know what i mean)
I havn't seen 24 THF members in a pay game since the league at full-Tilt nearly 2 years ago.
Heres what I bring to the table:
I think it should be on a Sunday:
(Duh)
I think the best time is between 2-4pm EST
(Would like to hear from the majority)
I think it should be at Stars.
(most popular site in which majority of players already have accounts. I know this does not help bring added money to the Forum but we could all ante-up an entrance fee (TBD) and use those funds for the final payout to the winners.)
I think it should be a $5 buy-in
(Proven to draw more players to the games)
I think it should be 8 weeks.
(4 weeks is too short and I feel 12 or more weeks is just too long)
I think it should be a point system.
(Top [x] in points get paid. No final table!!! We can use the same point system we always use)
I really feel a doubles/partners league would bide well over a singles competition but I'd like to hear from others.
(In a doubles/partners format, only the top finisher of each teams points would be counted. ie: Say me and Sonny were partners (hehehehe) Lets say i finished 6th and Sonny 9th... Only the points for 6th place would be counted.) We'd have to work out the kinks but the match-up possibilities are intriguing to say the least.
I urge all of you who are interested to speak now or forever stop your whining about the good ole days and the way things use to be.
Here is your platform people......Speak up!!!!!!!!

| | | | I have to concur... the game today brought back memories for me. My work schedule is so hosed, I don't get a chance to play much midweek, but the weekends would be easier. Good turnout, and great play. If we can get a regular game, we might even be able to start bringing in some new players. It was nice today to see the regs, and a few different faces in the mix as well. I agree on the stakes that B listed above, and the times would seem to work. PS does seem logical, and I wouldn't mind at all paying an entrance fee that would then go to the winners. I hadn't thought about the doubles aspect, but it definately seems intriguing.
If any newer people to the forum are reading this, and have never played in our league games, can you please chime in why? I'd like to see why we can't get a better turnout. Is it the bankroll, timing, what. Let's set up something to get a big field on a regular basis.

| | | | I agree with what has been stated above except I'd like it to be teams of three with the top two scores from each team going towards the team score. We have used this in the past and I think it worked out well.
Sundays
About 2-4 pm EST.
PS ( even though It's not my favorite place to play. hehe )
$5 buy-ins
8-10 weeks
$5 league fee to go towards the prise fund
$5 team fee to go towords the prise fund

| | | | This would be an excellent game and day for me. As for the time as long as it starts at least by 5 est I would be there. Any midweek game would be impossible
for me to make with work. But I am always happy to donate just the same as some of you saw last night

| | | | myself and bsquad been trying to come up with ideas for a while now for the return of the THF league game to be moved back to sundays. i think its the only answer seeing both the 4:00 and 10:00 games are both struggling.
i agree with all the ideas except the team aspect. why is that? without any names being mentioned back to the poker4ever league, one game there two teamates were the small and big blinds. i believe the blinds were $75 -$150. small blind had $210 in chips and the big had well over $3k in chips. table folds to the blinds and the small blind goes all in which would have cost big blind $60 with his better than $3k in chips. i'm a 100% sure if it wasn't his teamate he would have called in a heartbeat, but he folded the measly $60 bet to keep his teamate in the game. i just don't think it was right.
so me, i'm for individual play but if it's decided for team play i have to go with b and a 2 player team. regardless whatever is decided i'm in. jan 7th is the first sunday in january so plenty of time to get this set up if we can get input from other members
the rat
ps also agree a $5 buyin would attract more

| | | | I tried to play the $2 league at Cake, but highly unusually, I had other commitments a couple of times, and there were administrative problems too. I don't play Cake anymore.
I wouldn't want to pay anything more than that. Although I've played $10 SnGs many times, I have this gut feel that for MTTs I should be playing at no more than 20% of my max SnG buy in because of the increased entry level and the lower percentage of places paid. Maybe we should have a thread on that idea?
I currently play Pitbull, Bugsy's, Poker in Canada and Third Bullet. Bugsy's may not be on my list for too much longer, it's taking too long to get a stack out of the freerolls there. Victor Chandler is under consideration, but less than 50% likely that I will play there, no FRs, but I do like their SnG range.
So not much chance of me being in on the league I guess. Pity.

I remember this happening and I wasn't posiitive it was teammates colluding. Lots of players get passive with large chip stacks and almost have an auto-fold button that gets pushed whenever someone raises. I did this a couple days ago in a similar situation and realised as soon as I hit fold how stupid that was and apologised to the table for it. Anyways, I think that even if it was a planned incident that these types of things are few and far between. The team aspect gives the game a new dimension to look out for as well and makes it more exciting. I'd be sad to see it go. Thanks for listening | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread
