i havent been posting much this last week
about a week ago my pc started randomly restarting and the monitor kept losing the signal.
Eventually the whole pc just packed in. I spent all day thursday moving parts from my pc to the other one in the house and testing each part to see if it was ok.
I just logged on via my laptop briefly on friday and saturday but since i hadnt transferred all my files over to my laptop i was a little restricted. Ive got a hard drive usb enclosure but because my drives are sata i couldnt transfer the files over. sods law
Anyhoo...yesterday i started working on it again. I had narrowed it down to either the motherboard or perhaps the psu. Turns out it was both. Have a look at the attached image. I dont think it was a power surge but somehow i managed to blog both the power and the motherboard. Eek!
Im still using my laptop to browse the web just now as the local pc shop doesnt get the motherboard i need til this afternoon or tomorrow.
To add onto this nightmare...the internet went down yesterday for hours and the additional 512mb i bought for my laptop was the wrong size because sony are...put bluntly, bastards when it comes to uprades and accessories.
Once i get the motherboard ill be back to normal
