well as you know we lost the
database at christmas.
I hadnt backed up since before i had went travelling. I had this file however, i thought it was corrupt. Ive since went back and found another copy just before that one and decided to restore that tonight, it was backed up near the end of july 2004
those of you who logged in tonight probably saw the database is messed up message. Dont worry - i had it under control - i had to mess about with a few things as wasnt sure about one part in the import script - so deleted the database and then restored it
So, ok in short this is what happened tonight
the first 4 months of the site were recovered - August 2004 to December 2004 are still lost.
At the time of the loss we were at 150 members - i recovered about 54 i think plus nearly a thousand posts. Weve still lost 100 members and a few thousand posts but overall im pleased with the recovery.
similar to last time i imported, there are a few small things i still need to update (like correcting the sign up dates and making sure everyones in the right usergroup) - ill probably get round to it this week (its 3am and im up at 6.30am for work so my prediction for monday night is sleep and lots of it!!)
